DEVOTED TO GOD
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Every so often I am hit with the thought of "What are we devoted to in life?" That thought makes me stop in my tracks because I have to realize that it is what we have been devoted to up to this point that is causing all of the problems and turmoil in our world.
It is one thing for us to know that deep inside we have not been devoted to God in hardly any way over the last several generations of Americans in this country. The Apathy that we have had for the spiritual side of life is depicted by the things that are selling the most in society. It is also that great but very silent majority of people who won't speak their minds when it comes to opposing the evil they see around them. I think there is yet a third thing happening in this world that is bound to happen when the good of this world is overcome by the evil of it...and that is we will see the return and judgment of mankind more quickly unleashed by God. This is a time in history when we will see the acts of God in unprecedented ways. We can already see that our world has become every bite as evil as was the Sodom and Gomorrah. America has become that which it was not established to be spiritually, and we will no doubt pay the price for it.
One of my greatest desires in this life is to begin a movement of hearts toward a true devotion to God's word and purpose within you...the person who comes by to share these writing with me. I see the readership of this material is getting less each few months and that tells me there are fewer people who want to really know and deal with God's truth in life. This tells me that what Jesus predicted to happen with the gifts of the Spirit starting to dwindle is largely true of today's social attitude and on the surface it looks as though we are loosing the game to evil at every turn. In fact on a physical basis we may well be loosing the control over minds and hearts of men who have made a conscious choice to turn to sin. That should not surprise us in these last days...even though it makes us sad to see that; our duty is to hold on until the end of the race, and to encourage one another until the very last step we take in this life. We will not carry a great number of those whom we have targeted to win to Christ, but through our personal devotion to God there may be those who have chosen God that we may never know about, and our influence may have helped one another to continue to stand where so many around us are falling...these too are lives saved and loved in the hand of Jesus.
We may well say that we are devoted to God, and yet we are only so if we live out the Good news within our lives daily...moment by moment, and in ways where we alone are drawn closer to Him. It is the times when there is no great fan fair as we worship and praise God that we become devoted to Christ and the teachings of the Good News that He has brought through the Father. I am learning that my time and witness are best spent as though there were no one else involved except me and God. Let your devotion become true to you, and let the power of God's Holy Spirit do the drawing of people to you that you need to minister to. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
THE UNWORTHY SERVANT
