WE WILL SEE THE ENEMY STANDING IN A PLACE WHERE HE SHOULD NOT BE.
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Today we are standing in the very middle of some of the most difficult times for Christians in history apart from the churches very beginnings. We can look around us to see the real truth as it is played out about how the evil of this world is reacting to being unleashed on the surface of society.
Mark 13:9-20 has been said to be only to those who who were the first Apostles, and those who were martyred when the church was first established; but all we have to do is look about us today to see that once again the evil of this world will not tolerate living beside good, peace, or love.
Mark 13: 9-20 " You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the Synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and Kings as witnesses to them, and the Gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry before hand about what to say, just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child, children will rebel against their parents, and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm until the end will be saved. When you see the Abomination of Desolation standing where it does not belong- let the reader understand, and let those who are in Judah flee to the mountains. Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out, let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers. Pray that this will not take place in the winter for those days of distress will be unequaled from the beginning when God created the world until now- and never to be equaled again. If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom He has chosen, He has shortened them."
This is the kind of scripture that should scare you straight! It should also make you realize that none of us is to escape the need to give and account for our belief in Christ; in particular in these last days. Now there are many things that were said to the disciples of Jesus day and time, but also many things that have been directed to us as modern day Christians as well. While we today are not likely to be flogged in the Synagogues we may well find ourselves being be-headed for claiming Christ as Lord.
It amazes me about human nature and how quickly we claim to believe in Christ and yet just like Peter when we feel we have the strongest conviction our very soul can shrivel up inside of us and we too can deny Him when we are face with our own destruction.. I think about those who will turn in their own family members to bee tortured or killed in the coming days, and perhaps years ahead because they cannot stand for what they have claimed to believe. How great will their anguish and pain be inside as they realize what they have done? I think about the words of Jesus when He states that not all who call me Lord Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; and then I wonder why that might be? I think about the pruning of the branches that is mentioned by Christ , and all of those who have been dead branches who will be cut from the vine because they refuse to bear fruit of God's Spirit. When it comes down to it I really believe Heaven and the Kingdom of God will not be overly crowded by those who profess Christ today. I have heard the words: "The world is but a stage , and everyone must play his part" and yet we cannot fake our love and desire to be a part of God's Kingdom because God reads the intent of our heart behind what we do or say.
We have to realize at some point that God really does mean what He is saying about our condition. We have an obligation to be to Christ what we have said we would be, and anything less than that is to be deceitful and a Lie. If we allow ourselves to be convinced that we can somehow find another way that fits our desires more than to submit to Jesus as Lord. The choice is either God's way or in trusting in the lies and deceit of this world; what is your choice? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
