JESUS WORDS ABOUT THE TIMES WE ARE LIVING IN
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
There is never any shortage of people speaking today about the things that give us the greatest amount of comfort. The one thing that we really need the most of in this age is someone to tell us the truth. That has always been my goal through the years, and again this week as we begin to look at Jesus own words about this generation and what we need so desperately to watch out for.
The truth is that at every turn in this life we need to be aware of those who are trying to deceive us with regard to our spiritual health. I am reminded in the scripture in Mark 13: 5-31 of Jesus teachings that deal with the things we need to watch out for in this life This week I want to focus with a closer look that this passage of scripture with Mark 13: 5-8. " Jesus said to them: Watch out that no man deceives you, many will come in my name, claiming, I am He, and will deceive many. When you hear of wars and rumors of wars. do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against Nation, and Kingdom against Kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines; these are the beginning of birth pains."
Watch out that no man deceives you because there will be many who claim to have God's word, and some who even will claim to be Jesus in returned. This deception is already a big part of our life in America. We have seen a tremendous number of false prophets who have been taken down from their secret lives of sin, and have lost their testimony because of pride and self. There are also many out there who are more subtle in their deception of God's word, and who gently lead people away from Christ with half truths, and miss- directed teachings that tend to tickle our ears and make us feel more comfortable in our own skin. Today everywhere we turn there is some kind of miss-direction being shown to us by this world, and unless we are centered in the truth of Christ's message to us from God we can easily be confused by what we see. The wars and rumors of wars are things we have known and lived with all of our lives, but the idea of kingdoms against kingdoms also means that families will fight against families when it comes to the things of God. We rarely hear anyone speak about the principals of what is to happen in these last days about father against son or mother against daughter, but in truth because of the tremendous push by this world to claim control on the very life it does not own, and has not created is the single greatest waring faction in this world today.
If we look closer at these words from Christ we can see that all of this is only the beginning of the birth pains that are being brought on by the evil within this world. The tremendous number of natural crisis we see around us that is brought onto the innocent people in different places of this world is simply that evil banging within this world and trying to escape it's captivity. We are told that at some point evil will be allowed to roam freely upon this world, and will likely surface in the persecution of the church; not from Satanists or out-right devil worship, but from the deception of false teaching that directs us to hide sin in open day and flaunt it before God. We are seeing that happen even now with Islam and it's double standards. What is it that we should do in this time? We will continue in the next blog with some very unpleasant things that are also happening today; and that is the direct persecution of the church by this world. Our greatest aid in this time is prayer and staying as close to God as we possibly can, for He is only hope. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
