THE AB0MINATION THAT CAUSES DESOLATION
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
One of the things I am noticing that is so prevalent in our culture today is the fact that we tend to turn a blind eye to the things that are obviously wrong in the lives of those whom we elect to government office, and or whom we put into the public eye to adore or influence our children.
Mark 13:14 tells us " When you see the abomination of desolation standing where it does not belong- let the reader understand- then let those who are in Judea flea to the mountains." This was a warning that evil is right upon us and we need to flea from it. The truth is that for some almost 20 years we have had that kind of evil at our very door step, and yet instead of getting rid of it we have tried to placate it by ignoring the warning signs that it has brought with it. In this scripture Mark speaks of the desecration of the temple and the fact that the enemies of God will destroy the Temple that the Jews had for so long placed at the center of their worship of God instead of God Himself.
All we really need to do is allow the Holy Spirit to guide our hearts for a short time to see that the destruction of what we as Americans have held so dear for over 200 years is also on the brink of that same kind of destruction by the same kind of ungodly enemy. The good that is generated by the simple living and caring that people have for one another is being attacked by an evil that we would rather try to deny exists within us, but all that we really need to do to foster evil is to pretend it does not exist; it will certainly grow and flourish on its own. Our human nature and self will is prone toward the need to posses and control life. Just like Satan we too are drawn by the power of God and yet we want to have our own power rather than acknowledge the power of God that is created within us. When we see evil we must try to point out to the world around us where and what it is we see. God knows that we will be rejected just as He was rejected, but that is not the the problem. The real problem is our unwillingness to take a stand for that which we know deep within us is the truth. In many ways it is that single change within our society that has become the real abomination of desolation within this world; when we decide to just let them go ahead and plant filth and liie where ever they want to.
We can easily see the problems, and yet for us to not want to get involved becomes a tendency toward laziness that we cannot spiritually afford any longer.. Does that mean that we as Christians need to become radical and offensive? I don't think so; but I do believe that it is time for us to take a stand and to point out what the truth is. We are charged with that kind of witness in today's world, and we will find that those lines are going to be drawn tighter and more difficult the longer we stay silent as a majority. It is not just that a line has been drawn by the enemy, but that the line is being advanced as quickly as we allow evil to continue unchecked by the truth. If we stay silent then we too become a part of those darker forces that are taking control of our lives. I don't think that we actually see that! Perhaps if we can see this part of life a bit more clearly just a change in attitude toward the apathy we have shown the tendency to flaunt evil in our face will change, and that is a good place to start. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
