THE MAKING OF FALSE TEACHERS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
In my life I have made many mistakes, and before I really knew or understood the truth about my own life, and quit trying to run from God's purpose within my life I had hurt many people who wanted to have faith in me as a man. I came to discover later in life just what it was going to take for me to surrender to God and the tremendous sacrifices there would be for me to have and maintain a true relationship with Him that would allow me to bear good fruit.
Like most people today I looked for a doctrine that was straight and true to the word of God when I was younger only to find that in almost all cases this denominational doctrines all had basic flaws within them that not only did not up hold the complete truth of God's word, but they tended to continue to separate us from one another as Christians. I realized at that time that it was the creeds and doctrines that clashed with one another that was being used so effectively by the enemy of God to keep the church from having any power. That was about 30 years ago now, but that realization could not take away the mistakes I had made in my life by then. I understood that those decisions made and the things I had been a part of; even running from what I knew God wanted from me could never be taken back, and my only recourse was to do the best I could to make sure that what I lived and taught was true to the words of Christ, and not through the eyes of someone I had learn ed from along the way, but through the power of God's Spirit in my life. Sense then I have preached and taught only the words of Jesus Christ, and the message that He had come to deliver to us.
The second of the "WOES" that Christ spoke of in Matthew 23:15 dealt with those who continued to fool both themselves and to lead others down a pathway they knew would lead them to destruction.
It is a wise practice for those of us who are seeking the truth to always carry the word with us and look passages of scripture up for ourselves as we hear others speak. It becomes such a temptation to simply listen to some one speak and take for granted that they are speaking the truth when many times they may be speaking from the mindset of a church doctrine rather than from Christ alone. People tend to follow men rather than a message from God, which can be very dangerous because many of those who are speaking don't really know the truth for themselves, and even if they do they may be afraid to speak it for fear of upsetting the denomination behind them.
In verse 16 Jesus continues to speak on the hypacritical concept of placing great value in the wrong things. Once again we must look at this in it's most simple form. What is the most important things to God? Our salvation in it's Spiritual form is what God hungers for, and so if we look at anything else other than that as having too great a value to Him we may easily be wrong. In many ways just like the church at Corinth we too may need to tear down the things that we have built up around us as we may have thought it was of God; and then rebuild again from the basics. Many of us in life have taken for granted that what we have learned about God over the years must be correct because we have trusted those who taught us. I want to challenge you to take your foundations back to the word of God and re-evaluate what you think you know so that you are not caught wanting on that day. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
