Finding purpose in our life
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
For a long time now I have been dealing in a general way with the purpose of our lives in Christ. In truth there are many different ways to approach that subject. Our very lives are a gift from the father to us. That is a gift that should not be wasted, but it should have a purpose. Not all of us will be placed in the limelight so that everyone can see us, or even want to see us individually and the yet what ever state we may find ourselves in we can be content in knowing that we can find refuge in the arms of God our father.
For a great deal of people the purpose for their life remains a mystery, but we all have a calling from God and a purpose in life. There are general purposes in the life that God gives to each one of us in the same way like the privilege of having a great relationship with him through the workings of the power of his spirit within us. If we follow that general purpose we will no longer be bound by the false doctrines of sin. We are free in the power of God to do and to say the things that are his will in our lives, but we are also encamped about on every side by people and things that would tell us we are all unworthy because of sin. It is this first and general purpose for our lives that I want to mention today. It is the power of God alone which takes away the sting of death brought about by the original sins in our lives. Christ died for those sins no matter if they are passed, present, or future so that we might be able to come to Christ and seek forgiveness. When we seek forgiveness and have a repentant heart we are promised that we would be forgiven and have the opportunity to love God as his children. The father took it upon himself to correct what had happened in the garden of Eden through Christ and his purpose for his life to man kind. All that is required of us as his children is that we finish what Christ started, that being the completed defeat of sin and of the enemy of God by giving our will to the father even as Christ did.
We are not required to die as Christ did, only to obey the father as Christ obeyed the father. What that means is that every day of our lives we too become living sacrifices. If we are his children we should be no less willing to love the father then as Jesus loved father. Christ has set for us an example of that love by showing us that although we fear the unknown in our lives the fathers love is sufficient to see us through all things, even death. When we understand that kind of family relationship that God asks from us we will also understand that all things are possible in Christ. When we realize that we are God's children by adoption and that we are in turn errors of his kingdom as is Christ all fear should pass away, and only love should remain. It is not by my will alone father, but by my will being given to your will that allows me to become a true child of God. For us then to live really is Christ and for us to die really is gain! There is no fear in death because death to this world only brings eternal life. We are indeed given a gift far beyond our capacity to understand unless we are willing to exercise it. Made you richly bless God through your life in him.
