The conclusion: is there a right way to worship God?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Over the last week or so we have been discussing the concept of worship and delving into the subject of one worship is to each of us one worship has become in general to the church of today, and we've even discussed if it matters or not one the format of worship is in the church. We have seen some of the things that causes separation between God's people, and we find out that the idea of worship styles is usually in the center of the controversy. Is there a right way to worship God? Once again Paul deals with the subject through his writings in Philippians 3:3 when he says "for we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus; and have no confidence in the flesh." When Paul speaks about circumcision to the Jews he is talking about a physical act that is done to follow the laws of Moses. What he did say here is that our act of belief in Jesus Christ is not a physical act but it is spiritual in nature. We are ourselves becoming the act of circumcision then the Jews were using as a process of Jewish birthright. We worship in the spirit of God, and we rejoice in what Christ Jesus has done for us instead of trying to have in the competence in the flesh.
What are these works of the Holy Spirit? We are created in God's own image, and from the very beginning we have that distinction as is found in Genesis 1:2. The Holy Spirit himself has been sent to us for the very purpose of inspiring us according to 2 Peter 1:21. In a huge way we can even say that it was God's choice to beget his only son through mankind as it tells us in Luke 1:35 "and the angel answered and said to her the Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the highest will overshadow you; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the son of God". The Holy Spirit has been in the job of convincing men of this truth from the very beginning John 16:8. God's Holy Spirit has been regenerating us as we give our lives over to him as it tells us in John 3:5-6. Jesus himself has sent the Holy Spirit to us to be our comforter as found in John 14:16, and Christ himself has been interceding for us according to Romans 8:26-27. The greatest part of all is to know that the Holy Spirit is sanctifying us; he is a literally setting us apart as his family and transforming our lives spiritually to fit into the kingdom of God 2 Thessalonians 2:13.
God is a spirit therefore they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth according to John 4:24. There is a way of worship that is so awesome that I believe it is yet to really be seen in our churches today, but it is coming and it is coming very soon. That is that we worship in truth! As we look more closely at worship in the book of Revelations 3:7-13 we see that we are this day being called into greater worship than ever before because it does not have with in and the creeds or the doctrines of man's belief, but instead the pure truth of our relationship with the father at its center. It is in these days we are beginning to lose a certain luxury. We are losing the luxury of playing church and playing and Christianity. Revelations 19:9-10 tells us that even the angel who brought the message to John as he rode what he saw inRevelations new what it is we should know even now but do not; we are all fellow servants of all of the other brother and who have the testimony of Jesus, who worship God; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. It is the spirit of truth telling.
1 John 5:1-3 tells us everything that we hope for that we can worship God is built-up in us through love. God is a greater then our heart 1 John 3:20. We abide in God's love so strong that we cannot help but keep his commandments.1 John 3:24 speaks of our dwelling in Christ just as we know without any doubt that he abides with us. We worship because we have victory over this world 1 John 5:4-5. We have assurance of eternal life, we have guidance in prayer, and we have freedom from habitual sin. Our worship in its final analysis is summed up in one word COMMITTMENT. Joe committed himself and to God's hands in Job 5:8 King David committed himself to God's hands in Psalms 31:5, and in Psalms 37. David speaks to us about the trust and the commitment of the righteous men in this world. I am convinced that our righteousness depends on our ability to learn how to really worship God. How can we really know what it is to worship? When we realize what we have been given and what we have been forgiven of and saved from. I believe there is no question that we can understand what real worship is. Luke16: 11-13 tells us that we must make that total commitment if we are to understand worship. Because we cannot serve two masters.1 Peter 4:17-19 tells us that the time is upon us to become the bride of Christ, not just another church filled with believers. There is an undercurrent of spirit that desires to take each of us to a new level of spirit and understanding, but we must be committed to receive it. Dear ones it is my prayer that you will receive this information with your heart open, and that you will begin to discuss these things with others and have a dialogue begin within the church that will help the Holy Spirit to transform all of our lives. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
