THE POWER OF WITNESS IN PERSECUTION
There will never be a good time for persecution of from this world on those who take a stand for Christ...but I fear that time is coming within this country very soon. Because of that I want those of you who are believers to be able to stand under the weight of the enemy of God. Not only do I want you to be able to stand, but I want for you to be able to break the shackles that this world tries to put upon you. I greet you in Jesus name today to tell you that we will all go through the trials that this world will bring upon us as we refuse to deny Christ as our Savior and Lord.
Acts 4:1-22 gives us a real idea of the kind of persecution that awaits us. We find that it was the message that condemned those who sought to do away with Jesus, and not just the man. The message of freedom from sin through the acceptance of Christ as the Son of God is more than sin can fight against, but like the mentality of most men who cannot understand God's love for us; the mind of the enemy of God continues to make mistakes as well. The world cannot understand forgiveness and forgetting of sins against it any more than we could at first...it takes time and experience with the mercy of God's heart before we can begin to grasp how deep that love goes. As men and women we only think of forgiveness as a diversion to an unpleasant war of words between us and someone else...but forgiveness is never really there unless we can let go of the wrong done by forgetting about it. The world is what causes us to hold on to the memory of sin with the intent of heart to use that memory at a later date when we may feel we need it to win again.
In many ways we tend to continue that persecution of one another every time we bring those hurts back into any argument or disagreement we may have with others. In truth had we actually forgiven them before we would have no memory to use against them for leverage...can you imagine how many fights we could prevent by doing that? This world does not forgive, nor will it ever try to because it wants all of the fire power it can have against you. It is this kind of persecution that we must begin to deal with now because it can destroy all of us at some point. We can all remember times in our lives when we too were living under that kind of rule in the world...that kind of unspoken law that tells us to never forget. I have heard so many times people say to me " I can forgive, but I never will forget". My friends if that is the case in your life then you have never really forgiven...if that is true then God will not forgive you either. Think about that...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
