RESTORING FAITH

THE CHURCH as God has established it does not really exist but for a few cell groups in this country who absolutely have rejected the wisdom of men and the social pressure which says bigger is always better.  It is far better to understand whom and what we have placed our faith in than to talk around the issues with various programs which continue to muddy the senses on what the most important issues are for the Christian; which is do we believe that God is who He says He is?

For those of us that do believe that God is and that He is always truthful the question has never changed about obedience to His word.  In fact the more simple we can make the concept of "loving God with our whole heart mind and soul; and then loving our neighbor as we love ourselves" the more we seem to be able to restore our faith.  The truth is there are no real areas of grey found when we take God's word for something being true.  His word is not an opinion...it is there to use as a guideline to remain in His will.  We have become a people who are filled with opinions, and even when we hear the truth spoken to us we say as a knee jerk response "NO BUT" just in the same way we have grown to react to anyone else's opinion....the problem is that God's word is not an opinion, but a command.

For many years I have waited for an opportunity to have a voice in the ways we have treated God's word.  It is obvious that the busy work programs that have been set up in large churches are not the answer to growth spiritually.  We can't try to fit the Gospel of Christ into a schedule the world creates around us.  We must create our lives around the issues that God's word brings up into our lives about our relationship with Him.  I am not saying that many of these issues are not important or are not needed, but when it comes to finding real answers for relationships, or social status it always comes back to self, and self is best deal with in scripture.  What our own attitude is with regard to life around us is directly determined by our attitude and relationship with God.  I do believe that there is a core of teaching that we need to deal with in the church that are not being taught.  The process of taking each thing that we deal with in this life to prayer...how to use prayer effectively, and then how to allow God's Spirit within us to help us discern the truth from the lie is extremely important.  If people are not understanding these things it is probably because they are not in Christ in the first place...the world cannot understand the Spiritual.
I would hate to think of how many people today in the church's are still unsaved in God's terms; and yet they are completely accepted in our terms.  Unless we can change that kind of dynamic within the church we will always suffer from a lack of faith in God.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
