ACTS 3;12-26 ALWAYS POINTING TO JESUS

Greetings in Jesus our Lord:

We have already begun to study some of the basic principals of how the first Church treated each other and the great care they gave to make sure that no one was ever in need.

We have seen in chapter 2 how God's power came down upon them as a group of people to reach out to strangers to them by speaking in various native languages in tongues they had never learned, but all saying the same things.  They all pointed toward Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in much the same way as Jesus always pointed to God the Father.  Jesus became a witness to the reality of God as the Father and creator in the same ways that we should become a witness to Jesus as the Son of God and the messenger of the Good News from the Father to mankind.

More than anything else we must be witnesses to what God has done to change our own lives, and lead us into a more meaningful relationship with Him through Jesus as Lord of our lives.  That concept is not difficult to understand once we make that statement to someone, but it is difficult to do because it means that we have now put our lives on the line as an example of how God has changed us from the old man that we have been and into a new creature in and through Christ.  It really means that we need to stop talking and start living what we have said out in front of the world.

As we live out this witness in front of those whom we have given testimony to the Holy Spirit begins His work in the hearts of those who see us live Christ out.  There will be a great number of different reactions to what is seen an felt, but the Holy Spirit will start to work within them either to accept what they see or reject it altogether.  The Holy Spirit will continue to draw those who are touched by what they witness in you until at a certain point they may come to you and ask about your relationship with God.  It is at that point when you can point to Jesus and invite them to come with you to meet Him.  It is at that point that you become a minister to them of what the Holy Spirit has placed with in their hearts.  You and the rest of the church now have a different job to do, but you do that JOB together not separately.  Remember how critical it is that you continue to live out the Gospel of Christ at this point.  Let the Holy Spirit do His work of drawing people, because many times your job has only just begun with the first of several that may be drawn to Christ by your witness.

You can always be sure that I will be praying for you as well...just keep pointing toward Jesus...may you richly bless Gpod through your life in Him.
