THE SEARCH

The search in this life for anything worth the time to find takes some sweat and toil on our part.  We can thank Adam for that gift through sin just as we can thank Eve for the pain of child birth, and the enemy of God for the constant deceit, and pain of illness we feel in this world all of the time.

In a general way just getting along in life is difficult for some people.  Before I came completely to Christ and began the process of dying to self I too lived in that same muck and mire of life.  We carry that baggage with us all of our lives until we get so weary that we stumble around with it barely able to walk.  It is then that God tenderly takes that weight off of our shoulders; if we come to Him and ask for forgiveness.  God simply asks us to leave that past at the foot of the cross and walk as though we are completely clean. The problem is that we never seem to leave without picking those memories back up to take with us, and then the enemy of God uses them to torment us.  In fact we use those memories to torment one another by bringing them up like little children to fight and manipulate one another in life. Our search then even unknowingly is to get rid of those things that have tormented us, but it lays within us to forget as God forgets.  Unless we can forget the sin we have never really forgiven the sin, which means that we cannot be forgiven the sin.

This process is only complete in Christ when we give ourselves completely into God's hands so that in His Spirit the work of forgetting can take place.  We must fill our minds with God however and not leave space for those memories to be used against us...it is a part of our transformation into new creatures in Christ Jesus. God tells us in His word that if we clean out our hearts which have been possessed by the enemy, and do not refill them with the presence of Christ's Spirit the enemy will not only come back , but come back seven times worse than before.  Many of us are walking around with the guilt and the burdens of memory of sin in our lives. We have both used and had those memories of our sin used against us in this life...mostly in the heat of an argument with someone close to us.  Don't you think it is time to grow past the deceit of Satan in this life enough to complete the process of forgiveness as God forgives...throwing the memory of that sin or wrong doing away along with sin itself?  Don't you want to live like you are a child of the King instead of a piece of dirt on the street?  I believe it is time for the search to be on in your life and mine to find these hidden things and deal with them in Christ don't you?  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
