PROVISION ACTS 4;32-37

God always makes provision for His people to do His will.  There are times when that is done by a miracle, and some times it is just done through the people of God loving one another as family.

This does not take a great deal of people nor a great deal of money to make sure that no one is in need within the body of Christ.  It does however take  all of our talents and the resources that have come from God to us to do be effective in His provision.  It takes a different kind of mindset about what we have in our life, and how it should be used.

The things that we have been given by God are not our own in the first place, and we need to understand that the real ownership of all that we have been blessed to have is God's, and not ours at all.  When we begin to see that we can also begin to understand what that scripture really meant when it tells us "all the believers were of one heart and one mind...no one claiming that any of his possessions were his own, but they shared everything".  Until we come to a place where God is the King of our life we will never be able to deal with the provisions part of our Christian experience.

The idea of provisions from God has interested me for a long time.  When I was young I understood it always as God providing for our lives in a supernatural way, or through some kind of miracle.  As I have grown in Christ through many years I now understand that God's provision is mainly given through the changing of hearts and minds.  It is  a full circle of the ways we look at the possessions of this life that make all the difference; let me give you some examples:  We often find ourselves changing out home items like furniture or cloths that many of the people in our church could use or who are in need of. The problem is that we never seem to get around to going to the right sources to find out the need within the body.  We need to realize that want and need is two very different things and that is why we need to be careful in the ways we do things.  If we allow God to continue to lead us in all things He will show us what we should do and when.  When our mind and our heart is right about who is the owner, and who is in control of us then it becomes much easier to share what we have with one another...until that happens there will always be a great battle of need within the church body no matter what the location is or who the people are who need God's provision.  How are you looking upon what God has given you?  Are you looking upon it as an owner, or as a servant in trusted with it?  There is a great difference in the two...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
