THE ABSOLUTE OF FAITH

There are few things in this world today which are considered absolute by both the world and by the Spiritual realm of God. These absolutes are always in our face in some way...they never hide.  Life, death; light and dark, the law of gravity; hot and cold...all of these things have an unwritten rule attached to them which states that we must deal with them in certain ways.  They are absolute truths to each of these things I have mentioned that make it impossible to try to ignore the way that we as human beings must react to them.  My point here is that Faith is created to be the same way.  It is created spiritually as an absolute, and we must deal with it under it's own conditions and laws...and not our own.

I have heard many different times from great teachers of the word that " YOU CAN NEVER GIVE SOMETHING AWAY TO SOMEONE THAT YOU YOURSELF DO NOT HAVE" and I believe that in today's church setting we are discovering the absolute truth behind that statement.  If we ourselves do not have faith in God we can never create faith in others; and far too often those who have been teachers have demonstrated less faith than those whom they teach.  In the book of Acts 5:1-42 we see an example of how God purged people from the church body who were a drag on growth, and who were simply sucking the life out of the body because they were attached , but producing nothing personally that aided in growth of those who were coming to Christ every day.  It isn't that these people were bad...it is just that they refused to continue to grow in Christ and increase their faith in God.

Much like the tree that stood in a prominent place within the garden and yet produced no fruit for the master year after year any good steward of the land will seek to cut that dead and useless wood out of the garden and plant something else that will produce with proper care.  I am always amazed at how some people can justify their faith in God by simply showing up on a Sunday morning and sitting through a sermon, but have absolutely no real purpose in Christ personally.  I have found that faith takes absolute believe that God is who He tells us He is through Jesus Christ.  In fact we should all know that unless we can be completely sold out in the things that God has told us and in the new covenant and Lordship of Jesus Christ we can never be a part of the Kingdom.  I have grown to believe that there are many within the church each week whom are considered brothers or sisters in Christ by those around them who have never truly been saved, and it is probably the single biggest reason that they lack faith most of the time.  There are absolutes in our faith walk with God...one of them is that very often we have to have enough faith to walk with God blindfolded in this life.  That takes having the faith of a small child in the word of God given to us, and it is not easy.  If you are finding it difficult to have faith in God's word you might want to ask yourself some basic questions about what you have accepted from God personally.  It takes much more than just words from a prayer...it takes real belief in God for your life.  If you at any point have questioned that it is worth finding someone whom you trust in Christ and going over your own conversion experience with them.  You might be surprised at what you discover....may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
