NOTHING LEFT BUT GOD
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
When it comes down to the Christian life very little progress can be made without first giving God complete control. For a great many Christians that idea of "who is in charge" varies greatly from day to day as we struggle to find a way to not respond to this world in the same manner as it responds to us.
The truth about our death to the influence of this world is no joking matter as we try to implement the teachings from Jesus into our daily lives, but still at some point we will have to come to that crossroads that gives God the majority of control, and then eventually all of the control over what we do and say in this life if we are to continue to grow. It was said once " Eventually God will have to bring self sufficient people to the point where they have no choice but to turn to God". The older I get the less confidence I have in my own ability to govern my life; and I think that is simply because I am putting more and more trust in my relationship with God the Father and less in the ability of this world to give answers.
When it comes to my own ability I have confidence in my ability to make a choice of right and wrong, but I don't always have the ability to implement that into my own actions. I fail at that a lot in life, and so I need the inspiration of God's Spirit to give me the right words to say to whom ever His Spirit sends my way. In what I just said note that was that God is involved in two out of the three things I just spoke of because when I am on my own "I fail". There is really no mystery about it other than if I am to work toward being perfected by God's Spirit I have to allow God to do the work in me.
As God molds us and shapes us we will find pieces of people left all over the studio floor from fighting with God over control, and that is not God's fault, but it is the material that He is having to work with. In other words it becomes the things that we keep inside of us that makes up who we are that makes a big difference in God's ability to mold us easily into tools that He can use. At some point we have to die to what we have carried around inside of us in this life. God may have to take us all the way down to our basic make up of materials before we can become molded. It may be our stubborn heart or our stiff necked attitude about the control He needs over our lives, but God has to be the only thing that is left standing in our lives before we will gain the insight and wisdom needed to walk with God. Some times I cannot blame Satan for all of what I do that is wrong...there are times I have to take a close look at my own life and what I have done to hinder God's love flowing there. 2 Chronicles 20:15 " Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of the great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's" I pray that you would richly bless God through your life in Him.
