THE EYES OFTHIS WORLD
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
The eyes of this world are on the Christian life more now than ever before in History, and the reason is from all of the claims that have set us up as a sort of example for this world to learn from. The reason that we are under such great pressure is due to preaching the gospel and yet not living that gospel out before those who need to see that it really works.
This problem is not new by any means. Living out the word of truth in one's life is the only means of having a good witness to the world around us. I have begun to look at others differently when I go from place to place. I have begun to seek out their very soul from within their body when I speak to someone in hope of finding Christ there when I look into their eyes. I have found that it is rare for others to seek out any direct eye contact unless they too are being directed by God's Spirit to do so.
I believe the reason for that has been that this world is trying to instill in everyone that telling a lie or making a false statement is now the normal way of life. In the same way that the liberal mind wants to take away anything that reminds us that at one point we have all been made guilty in some way of thinking hypocritical thoughts of others, or labeling people before understanding their issues. I am sure that we would all like to just forget that we have done these things, and yet it makes none the less guilty of these acts in our past, and the not have the forgiveness of God for such things is deadly. What do others see within your eyes when they look at you? God has always said that we should be able to see light shining from our souls when we look into our eyes. We should be able to see the reflection of what God has placed within us shining there. I believe we have been placed here together to be able to look and see that light within one another as encouragement to continue on when we have been beaten down by this world. I believe that there are so many other eyes that are upon us right now that we can bearly make a move without someone seeing our reaction to the world and to Christ within us.
I think people are watching us right now as they try to make a decision for themselves about trusting in Jesus. I believe that your reaction to them may be the tipping point to either draw them to Christ or cause them to reject Him. It is time for us to look closer at what we have glistening within our eyes as this world watches us intently to see if what we are saying to them is something we are also living. I want for us all to be so in love with God that when people look us in the eyes they cannot help but to look through us and find Jesus Christ there waiting for them. If we do that then we will have done our job. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
