CONTINUING THE SEARCH TO LOVE GOD

Greetings int he name of Jesus:

There is little that can be said when we look for excuses for not loving a God who has made a way for us to find and to be with Him for all eternity, but not just that alone, but to become His adopted heirs to all wealth of His creation.  God has put only one rule in place for our relationship to flurrish with Him, and that is that since He has done all things to take down any barriors that have been blocking us from Him we now have to be the ones to seek after Him.

God has never owed us anything...He is the one who created and gave us life in the first place.  It seems very reasonable that for those of us who really want to have a relationship with Him should be willing to seek after Him instead of adopting an attitude of " WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY?"  Unfortunately not only do most adults today have a chip on their shoulder about their relationship with God in that way, but we have certainly taught our children and grandchildren to pursue that attitude and much worse as we see less and less desire for personal and up close relationships to be developed.  Our society has been led into a position of having very little to do with putting themselves into a position of being hurt emotionally by another person.  Because of our divorce potential being so high no one wants to take the chance, and so it is with any kind of great desire for any kind of relationship...even one with God.

This is just one of the many reasons that our witness to this world is so important; not only for the sake of calming the fear of relationships but in opening the hearts of people up to accepting what God has already done for us and in their ability to simply seek after the truth. Proverbs 8:17 tells us that if we seek after Him we will find Him.  That seeking starts by asking yourself " Am I being told the whole truth about the life and the world that I live in?"  When we even begin to start searching for any answers we will no doubt find God at the center of the conversation.  We know that the more we dare to look into what the truth is; and what I mean by that is in looking into what has stood the test of what is true for all time, we will find that God's word stands rock solid  in the face of each and every theory that man has ever devised.

Who we are and what we have been created for is completely built around the theme of having relationships, and in the very middle of all of that is our created desire to have a relationship with a loving God.  In fact, it is that relationship which needs to be at the top of our list.
Matthew 10:37-39 tells us that we need to love God above all else for what He has provided for us.  We can all quote John 3:16 and yet for us to seek God enough to live out the legacy that has been given to us is becoming hard with each day that passes.  This world will no longer take our word for the fact that God does love all of us enough to give us this offer.  We must demonstrate what loving God is, and what His love for us can be like when we accept it.  That demonstration begins with our love for one another in Christ and then can be carried into the world around us, but it won't happen until people see that the love we give is true.  It is my prayer that we will allow this truth to seep into our hearts. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
