ANGELS/ DEMONS and PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS
Greetings in the name of Jesus our Lord:

There are bridges that we need to cross when it comes to our faith that we need to cross in order to grow effectively. Some of these may come in the form of a crossroads in decision making for our lives that up until now we have avoided making. We may have not wanted to deal with certain things because of a comfort zone problem, and others because we don't want to admit guilt or wrongdoing.
Actually, the reasons we make up for now allowing God to take control of our lives fully does not matter because it all comes back to some form of rebellion or sin in our lives that we would prefer to stay hidden. The problem with that is that is the nature of any real sin we may have... the first choice is to stay hidden until the sin grows strong enough to take over and rule our lives. At that point, it will always try to rule us. There are many in life that are dealing with areas in life that torment them inside in this way. Our social structures have emboldened sin to create grey areas for us to consider that confuse us into considering our own solutions to uncomfortable problems of sexual orientation or political judgments that lead us always to destruction. No matter how much we want to be close to God these things will become a hindrance in our relationship with God until they are dealt with. Even King David whose heart was said to be that after God's own heart had times when he was separated from the will of God in His life because he sought to create his own solutions to problems instead of listening to God's word to him.
This study on the effect of principalities and powers within the church has led me to realize the depth of the infiltration we have that this world has made in our churches. I realize that from the time of my own birth within the church until now we have had an on-going problem with a desire to include the world into our faith through a seeker sensitive attitude that has opened the doors for actual evil to hide among us in some cases undetected. Now we jokingly refer to these people as weeds in the church and gleefully go about our business trying to ignore the fact that they have indeed for some reason planted themselves in our midst for the seeming purpose of creating problems.
While I don't want to dwell on that sort of thing I need to point out that while they remain in our midst and not dealt with properly they become a definite hazard to the growth of new Christians and the young in mind and spirit among us. Having said that; there will be a day when W many will be disappointed by the church going community who have grown to believe that as long as they are good in their intentions God will accept almost any belief. While it is painful for me to have to say this there are a great number of principalities and powers at work in heavenly places within the church today. These include both angels and demons, and unfortunately, men and women who are influenced by them. There are things that we need to be on the lookout for in the church we attend to ensure that the Holy Spirit remains in charge. This week we will begin to discuss these areas in hope that we can see some of the trouble areas that God warns us about. Be in prayer for me as we begin this very sensitive discussion May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
