GET A GRIP

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

Have you ever looked into a mirror in the morning and questioned what was looking back at you?  I read that someone saw a notice in an office once that read:"If you could kick the person most responsible for your troubles you wouldn't be able to sit down for a week" and I have no doubt that is true.  Paul said that as we are right now we " Look through a glass darkly"  in other words when we look into that mirror we can't see things very clearly.  That is because we cannot see the detail of our image in the way that God can...the way that He has created us to be like.

One of the most difficult things that we can deal with in our lives is that of being accountable.  It seems like we are our own worst enemies in that way, but we are not without help to combat this if we will just look for it.  Jesus wanted His disciples to go out two by two for 2 reasons Accountability and for encouragement.  These things are not easy to find on our own and we find the more we can have accountability partners to keep us on track the easier it is to live for Christ.  We need someone to ask four basic questions to us each week: 1. What sins have you committed since we last met? 2. What temptations have you faced? 3. How were you delivered? 4. What have you thought, said or done which you are uncertain whether it is sin or not?
Each one of these is searching questions that need some time to consider before answering.  It is always good to do this with another person who you can trust in Christ.

The whole idea of controlling our accountability is to "Get a Grip" on it.  We do that by understanding just how very important it is to our future and destiny in Christ.  If we can dare to share life's burdens with someone in Christ who we can trust and learn from then we put ourselves into a much safer place to grow in through Christ's Spirit.  Ask the Lord to lead you to someone with whom you can confide in your walk with Christ.  If you say " don't know anyone like that " then it is time to work on cultivating a relationship with someone that you admire in Christ. King David wrote in Psalms 143: 8 " Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in Thee I trust; cause me to know the way wherein I walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee."  If we do not as yet have a plan to grow and sustain our walk with Christ then it is time to GET A GRIP!  I pray that you will not let another day pass without taking a direct response in finding an accountability partner for the purpose of anchoring yourself in Christ.  Two is better than one to see trouble coming. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
