Our relationship between a parent and a child/our adoption
Greetings in the name of Jesus
It is no secret that we are blessed above all other creatures because of the free gift of God's love as a parent to us his children. It is buying that power, and that gift that he has created all things as well as having created us in his image that we might magnify his name throughout all of his kingdom. In many ways we are like small ants who are busy with the creation of their hives, and mankind goes about his business of creating an intricate maze of rules and regulations of worship to a father who is little more than amused over them. In all of our wisdom we have failed to realize that all the father requires from us is love and trust in return for what he is given us.
While we cannot change our height or are intelligence one cubit God continues to be the master of all things. We are his children, the creation that he has chosen to bear his own image and likeness. He has made us to be eternal creatures more so than any other he has made, but like the unsure or injured animal we would love if only we could get close enough; we too find ourselves so defensive and so afraid to trust anyone that the father himself cannot love us. He cannot get past our will to allow it. We hungered for and yet continue to reject his advances toward loving us the way we have all wanted to be loved. We cannot run to our father's arms and be held in his lap or be caressed and loved like the small children he wants us to become in his family because of this distrust. He gives to us out of love, and we should accept out of love. We should in turn trust out of law, and allow our will to be his well out of love but we simply find it too difficult to believe what he says.
It is only by God's power we are given the gifts that we have in his spirit, and even though we do not understand that power we are often taken to greater heights because of it. It is through God's love for us that we are given the chance to inherit his kingdom by way of adoption into his family. We are of all men most blessed who have accepted this grace and love from the father for we were lost to his world and have been found because of his love for us. We often do not understand this process of adoption, and we are to involved in this world, and often ignore it. As men and women we have been created to become God's own companions and by the right of our own will we can love him as a father and have a complete relationship with him. We don't seem to realize that God is looking up on each of us with the same compassion to love us as his own children, but as in all adoptions we must also both want to become his family member and show to him that we would be loyal as family member to his household. For us to say only that we are of God is not enough for him to adopt us. There is a process that needs to be developed that shows our love and will to return his love that must be brought about. Many of those of us who would become his children are right now merely foster children to him because of their refusal to give themselves to his will in their lives. I don't believe God would have anyone not be adopted into his family, but I strongly believe you that there are many who would use their connection to him to gain for themselves without in return giving there will or their lives's to him. God cannot bring us into a full state of inheritance without that commitment there are many people who have a great lip service to the father who will find themselves lacking when it comes to their own place in the family of God. I recall several years back when there was a search from many people for religion, which called for more commitment in their worship and their lives. We have grown into a people who are feeling safe within our own worship. We will goal only so far in our allegiance to our eternal family, and to our heavenly father. We must understand that each day we work out our faith as Paul says"with fear and trembling". Our relationship with the father should be a daily thing and must include learning to both love him and trust him completely in order for us to become his children. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
