The tests of our faith in God
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Our faith is given many different tests through our lifetime. Our very beliefs are tested, and tried in ways that we think it could never be tested. It is also true with our family status and God's household that we are tested for truth and for loyalty to the father from time to time.
Many more times than we would like to believe we feel those tests of love that God our father gives us. We have mass the response to those test by attributing it to sin and some way, or by an outside influence which causes us to not follow through with the promise made to him or vowel we have taken to do; or maybe a particular way of doing something if only God will do this or do that for us. We use these barter systems all the time with God. The point is we must begin to realize that just as in any other family atmosphere we are a part of the inner workings of it and therefore we must hold certain respect and duty in that family.
Perhaps our particular job at the time is not the most glamorous or we don't get the most visible recognition for what we have done, but nonetheless we are a part of a family and have certain things that we are required to do as members of that family. I think it is safe to say that most of us as Christians have gotten into a slump with regard to our responsibilities in Christ. It seems we have little recognition for our position is adopted children of God who were in a bad way before God gave us the chance to be a part of his family. We had no hope of life or a love in this world. We live in the false truth of this existence we call here and now, and we have had blinders on with regard to the real truth and existence of a God and most of all of of father who will not only provide for us but also give us a reason to live. It seems that among our biggest failures is that of not saying that we have all things through Christ and in the power of his Holy Spirit. We have reason beyond measure to live our life. More abundantly than anyone else could imagine and yet we don't because we somehow feel that we need more than we have been given. We particularly use this attitude when it comes to committing to our heavenly family.
Each of us has a responsibility and the job to be done within our father's household. Perhaps it is no more than just keeping our room clean, perhaps it goes far beyond what we feel we can physically or spiritually accomplish. No matter what we are called on to do we will not have to do it alone. No matter what our task we can be sure it won't be the same thing each and every day. No matter what it is we should be willing to say "thank you father for allowing me to be a part of your family"and then we should be willing to be used by the Spirit of God to accomplish it.
Our Lord calls to us each and every day of our lives to become closer to him and to have that special kind of relationship with him that only we as his children can have. The call of this world each day is also just as strong and because we can feel and since this world around us we are always more likely to heed its call than the heat God's call to us. The Spirit knows these things and so we must try to make connections with them on a different plane and using a different kind of sense which we have been given as a spiritual gift. These camps are alien to this world for they have no physical boundaries and no earthly purpose. These are the gifts that our father cherishes the most us and they are the hardest for us to understand as men and women. We are given FAITH that we might touch the plane of heaven without leaving this place and be able to believe those things which we know are truth because we have not seen with our own eyes physically. We are given the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT that we could know the truth exist when we hear it and then hold on to it. We have been given CHRIST'S LIFE as an example of how mankind can and should approach this life. We are given LESSONS in this life to better prepare ourselves for the eternal life we are freely given to enjoy once we make a commitment of our will to a loving father and God. These things are but a small part of the ongoing gifts we received from the father that are not of this world and that this world cannot and will never understand without our personal influence on it. These gifts are freely given to us that we might bear fruit for the father while we are here. Lead us not waste this opportunity to shine in a dark place. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
