Racing with God's spirit in our lives
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
It seems like everything God's spirit has me write about in these times deals with the church in some way. Once again we find that the be the case with the subject. We know we are of Christ and that he is in us because we choose to place his spirit within our lives, but what does that mean? Many people are referring to their life as Christians in the sense of putting on a garment. The putting on of Christ as we hear it is a good concept, but one which also allows one to take Christ back off when it is convenient. We have made a lifelong commitment to our father as a member of his household to be known by his name, act on his part toward those who we wish to know him, and to demonstrate his thinking in our everyday lives.
It is unfortunate that we as Christians can put on and take off again this air of Christian belief so easily. Just as there is a mark of Satan there should also be a mark of God which is required for those who are serious about their faith. That Mark should be worn on one's heart for the entire world to see, and yet it remains hidden away by most in the public place. We are instructed by our father to let our light so shine that all men may know upon looking at us that we are of God. There is a new dedication needed today toward our believes and our ability to give account for what and why we do believe in Christ. The time is rapidly coming that we will need to be able to give an account of that to this world whether or not we feel comfortable in doing so. This world is becoming more and more separated from our father, and in doing so is separating us from the world as well. Can we understand it is not our lot to live here in this place? Can we not see the need to stand fast in the father's love for us and in doing so die to the loves of this world? All around us we see continued destruction and pain. We see the things of this world failing that have always been stable. Even our land is changed and is now no more a home to us, but now a battleground with in itself. We must begin to understand where it is our loyalty can be found. We are here for only a moment but then we shall be with the father for all eternity. As always the choices ultimately ours to make, but the result of a choice to have the temporal things that can and are destroyed above the eternal things seems to be a poor choice. If we put on Christ then we must wear him as we would our own flesh, for we are no longer citizens of this world.
God our father has called us out of the bondage of this world and into the freedom and the light of his spirit yet we are forced to live in this bondage for a period of time. It is impossible for us to gain the kind of perfection that we want while we live in this corrupt this and in this world. Although we are called to strive for that kind of perfection while we are here the pressure of that is overwhelming to us. What can we do? We must realize that the spirit has not yet called us to be free from this physical bondage that we live in but he has called us to be free from the spiritual bondage that Satan has put us in by the will of this fleshly world. We are not called to conquer one we do not have the power to overcome in the flesh. For each one of us there is a battle which rages separately from the other and that thorn within the flesh of this world will not be separated from us until we are no longer alive to its influence. This is a constant struggle within the two worlds one of spirit and the other of flesh. It is a struggle ongoing and very vicious. In these times we are helpless to have the strength necessary to overcome the temptations of this world's bondage, but we are not alone in our battles if we are faithful to his will and to his holy presence in our daily lives. Praise God for he is faithful to prayer! It is by our willingness to constantly seek his counsel in these matters that we can be given the power beyond our own power to control what we cannot control. It is through these times of hardship in our daily fleshly struggle that we grow in his Holy Spirit through allowing his spirit to overcome these things for us.
Remember it is by our own will that we call out to God for help in time of weakness. When we cannot stand or see it becomes a matter of sheer will that allows the Holy Spirit to do and say what is needed to overcome these things. Praise God that we no longer fight this battle along. Although we are captive in this world for the present, we are free and his spirit to call for help and receive the power to shatter the enemy's hold on us. We are over commerce Lord; the enemy in camps round and about us in every direction. We have no defense except your Holy Spirit. Give us the knowledge that it is by an act of our own will that we allow you to fight for us and when the day. We cannot realize the power that awaits within us unless we can just use the power of our will to call on you. There is no other way that we can win and so I ask you my brothers and sisters to pray God's will into existence within your life, may you richly blessed God through your life in him.
