Dealing with the laziness in Christ/the church

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I guess one of the most popular subjects for the church to write about, or to speak on today is about God's love, being his child, and in general it becomes difficult for us to deal with those concepts in our lives when were not being truthful. Unfortunately God's love, being his child, and all of the other attributes that we speak of in our churches are not what is reality for most Christians when it comes to our relationship with father.

While there are many people who look in all directions to try to find excuses for their behavior we can say that this is not God's fault that we suffer so much to stay in his grace, but rather it's a combination of our own will, or should I say lack of use of our will in our lives to actively take control of the temptations that are around us that separate us from God we can begin to get into problems the moment we are lazy and not to allow life to begin to make decisions for us, and sometimes brazen to think that our sin and our failure to be centered in Christ is due to a kind of fate instead of it being all our own doing. I think of for truthful we know what is wrong. In fact we are told by God himself that we cannot be without serving one or the other; God, or self. If we are serving self then we are serving the enemy of God. God also said something else to us. He said that we would either clean to one and despise the other, or hold to one and reject the other in service. Christ was talking about the service we give each day to either good or evil.

Ultimately the battle lines as we know them are already drawn between God and Satan. The subject of backsliding is one which is been put on the back burner for most churches today because our culture of Christianity does not like to think of a God who has an ultimatum about our service to him, but he does, and that is the reality we face as well is the fact that none of us will escape the death of this life. While the initial thought of this tends to be frightening to us there is an upside as well; it is one which we should never neglect. If we are confident enough to understand that no matter what we are tempted with we can not be pulled apart from God's love with out our consent, and so we already have the basis for victory over the enemy. The point is this; each day of our lives we will serve either good or evil in this world we live in. We do have a choice as to which that will be, but we give them the choice by making a decision for that day as to which one we will serve. I put the word WILL in capital letters here because that becomes the determining factor in our success. It is then that evil can step in to take our day on that journey which does not cool like God. It is then that we are in danger of backsliding into a state of disrepair with father. And it all starts with the simple act of not acting on the decision each and every day of our lives that leads to our own downfall; and it all has to do with our will. If this laziness goes on so will the services of evil instead of good until we can no longer even be in fellowship with the Spirit of God because our own choices do not make choices. The Scripture tells us in so many ways that this is a real danger to us. I don't want you to think that once you have made a decision you no longer have a responsibility to honor the choice you made. It is not an easy road when we choose God but it is the only road to choose, and still save your life. We are given many different commissions in our lives at different times of our lives, but none of them are so demanding is the heritage of being a child of God or of the responsibility that brings. Sometimes it means that is it is a moment to moment struggle to stay centered in his will for us. At other times we are blessed to be able to sail in clear and non-turbulent waters for a while, but if we are true to Christ we will always struggle with the enemy. We can always know that Satan will not lose an opportunity to trip us up whenever he can, and it is so easy just to let the choice of one moment start the cycle in our lives. No matter what the temptation is we can be victorious over it by running to the arms of our father, and claiming his healing in our lives. We must be diligently watching for those times, and very faithful to make a choice each day when we rise. We will not get through even one day without the service to one or the other. The spirit within us has the knowledge of what is truth and what is false in our hearts. We accepted by way of choice to give our will to he who can save our soul and give us eternal life. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
