Brainwashed by the world
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
One of the things that begin to happen to me as I got very serious about my walk in Christ was that I had a change in my perception of the things that were being said to me and of the information that I allowed to influence my thoughts during a day. Once again I found that the Holy Spirit began to use things around me to make me aware of my need to change. My need to change was punctuated by what I was allowing myself to look at, lust over, or do well on in this life. The Holy Spirit soon gave me this writing to help me understand a little better what the process was that I was going through.
"I have heard it said that we are exposed to literally thousands of sales pitches every day, and because of it we have gained the ability to weed out those things which are of interest to us from those things which are not within 1000th of a second. We are constantly bombarded by someone trying to sell us on an idea or a product either by our agreement of a philosophy or the purchase of a product. That has caused us to be calloused toward the dictates of the Holy Spirit within our lives and we don't even realize we are being swayed. My point is simple; we must begin to realize that the father comes first in our lives before all of the rest can be added unto us if we are to have a firm foundation in living our lives today. We don't realize we are being brainwashed into submission by the world around us through our every day being subjected to the pitches of Satan about who we are and what we are all about. It does not become an issue of acceptance or rejection of a thought or an idea as much as it becomes endurance runs in the living in a world which has been set to convince us that here and now is all that we have two look forward to. If we don't get it all here and now we won't have but at all. We are being told that God is just a figment of our imagination because we can't prove him or disapprove him. We are being told that all we can afford to count on is ourselves and what we have to do in order to win here in this world! All of it is the wise! We are planted in a world of deceit were Satan has ruled for so long that it has become impossible for us to know the truth without first asking the father the right questions. The author and the finisher of the truth is set against the father of lies and we are the prizes to be one or lost. No wonder we cannot understand what is really going on! The only truth is being told to us by the one we must first seek in our lives and then ask what truth is. We will not find the truth in this world or in the answers that this world gives to us. It is impossible for Satan to do good anymore then it is possible for God to lie or do evil. We are a part of this world out of the fact that we were created to be in it, but it does not have to be our choice forevermore. God calls us by right of citizenship to become more than we are here he has empowered us toward a faith that can transcend where we are in this world, but not without taking direct action toward making the father the priority of our lives"
As God is my witness I know how difficult it is for us to continue to plod along in this life without being swayed by this world to want something more than we have right now. Just like any kind of retirement plan many times we will not see the end result of our efforts until after the race has already been run. I have personally had many great opportunities in this life. I have had opportunities to have money and wealth, and I have been given even a greater opportunity to see how this world operates for us when we go from having resources to not having resources in this world. Believe me when I say that this world does not care about you, only about what it can get from you. It becomes a very harsh reality when we wake up to the fact that we have been lied to. The price that it takes to be number one in this world is to sell your soul. Once you have done that it is easy to have all the temporary pleasures that you seek. What you do not have is the security of eternal life; of the love of God, or of that which you have given unto God to build your future with. This world tells us to be smart and to say for the future while all along trying to rob us blind of in the security we might have. It is time for us to be wise in the ways that we think, the influences we allow to govern our thoughts, and in the goals that we make toward happiness. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
