To the church of 2016
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I have something very special to share with you in this blog. This writing came to me almost 20 years ago and it has been a part of my personal ministry since.
"It is only through the grace and the power of God's Holy Spirit then we can do or say what it is we must do and say in this age. We are mostly deceived by Satan in these days in our knowledge of God's purposes for us. Many people are led to believe that as we sit in a church building on Sunday morning services; especially those who attend so faithfully each week, are counted as the Bride of Christ, but that is not true. The church and the services we attend so faithfully each week do not make up the body of believers that God calls his bride. It is rather those who would believe and have a loving relationship with him who he calls his Bride. Originally in the time of the first Christian meetings for fellowship, the believers would gather together for in evangelistic meeting to welcome all of those who were desirous of becoming followers of Christ from the work the body did with the community the week before. It involved breaking of bread, and fellowship in the spirit, but was only a by product of the real work in this spirit which had been done by the body of believers during the week.
What does that say to us? It says that God is not fooled by the trappings of tradition and wrote prayer we have developed to soothe our conscience. We are called to have a loving relationship with the God who has first loved us. The father expects us to be involved in this relationship on a first hand basis, he does not want messengers sent with words of love to him on our behalf, he wants our love to be real and effective in our lives. Praise God for the sheer act of will that God has given us to be able to choose who we will love and hate! God loves us so much that he has given us the choice to have a parent child relationship with him. That means we are a part of his family every day of our lives, not just on occasion. The body of believers God has called us out to be is his family here in this world. We are to be as his spirit leads us to others to be examples of his family each day and in every place we go. We are to be witnesses of his spirit at work in each of our lives in such a way as to draw others by our example to him. That is to be a part of the body of Christ. That is to be part of the church. That is to be part of his Bride.
There is not any easy way to be in love with someone, but when you are it isn't difficult to show others that you are in love with that person. It is the same with our Lord and God. It is not difficult to love and do for a person out of law what you would not do for a stranger, but it would be difficult to do for someone you pretended only to love. What is the body of believers to you? Where is your faith? What is your faith grounded in? Is it the stranger that we are called to love because he was supposed to be worthy of it, or is it a member of your own family whom you love because you are in love? We can test all truth in the spirit through his word to us so I ask you to test these things these words from his heart to yours this day and be mindful of his presence in your very breath"may you richly bless God through your life in him.
