Doing and hearing the word of God
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Over the years I have received many different messages from God that deal with the church in some way. Some of them were difficult for me to take in because of how close the conviction of God's word fell on my life. This is an example of one of those messages:
"There are many who would call themselves by Christ's name but who have much to understand about his purpose and his kingdom. We are all called not only to be hearers of the word but doers as well. There are those who are zealous fans of Christ's principles, but who do not want to get involved in the sacrifice of his cause in their personal lives. These people although they follow Christ do it from a distance away and they do not really know Christ personally. How can they called themselves to be God's family, if he does not even know who they are? There are those who believe that Jesus is the Christ and would profess and as their Savior but they refuse to study so that they might understand the reasons why they believe, and because that would slowly grow weaker until there is no foundation left for their belief. In most cases they have known who Christ is, and they have confessed, but have not turn from their ways toward becoming the children which a father could love and trust with his heritage. God knows these people and he weeps for them for they would not choose his love over this world.
All that God would give to them he cannot give because he can only adopt those who are true to him. There are also those who have asked and received from the father their own rightful place in his family. They are secure in his love for them and yet their fear of total commitment is so great that they are thwarted by Satan and doing what the father has asked them to do. They have become the servant who has not use their talents well, and who will lose what they have been given in the end because they would not confess him before mankind and he cannot confess them in the last day before his father. There are those who are disciples who would hunger and thirst after Christ's own heart. These are the ones who Jesus is called to become the church; which is his own bride, his true family and who will truly inherit the kingdom of God.
It is to those I hear him call this day to stand and be counted unto death for his name's sake. There is much seed planted and there is much which grows. Not all that is planted will be reaped and not all that is reaped will be stored, not all that is stored will be used. We are his. We are here is to use as he sees fit, and it is not until we realize that we cannot be useful to God on our own that we will have the right attitude as a child of God. We are not only planted, watered, and taught by the Holy Spirit but we also must produce useful grain. That which is not useful will be cast away or possibly burned with the weed and the chaff. The question is which are we then in his family and in his plan? Are we producing useful grain? Are we increasing the gifts that God has given us by using those gifts to bless one another with?
All that we see around us is the temporary creation of a world and a life that is destined to die at some point. We are created to live eternally, and so this part of our experience is only a steppingstone toward the rest of our existence. For some reason we don't want to think hard enough to get the whole picture that God has presented to us. The fact is that life is so much more than we realize it is. What then is it that we all want him Christ? We say we want God's will to take control but then we will not give God control to do his work through us. Our Lord and God has set each one of us on a different course. We are here is to command in whatever way he chooses, yet we still act as though it is we who do the choosing and the work apart from him. Do we not know that in doing this we obstruct his spirit within our lives and forfeit the chance to glorify the father? It is through the bending of our will to the father that he in turn glorifies his work through us, and that is the ultimate compliment from the Holy Spirit in our lives.
We can do nothing by ourselves to glorify the father, and we are set on a course of failure from the start if we try. We are a magnifier to those things of God for all of mankind just as the sun is magnified through a glass when it is held in sunlight at just the right angle to start a fire. We become that glass held at the right angle to magnify God's Spirit to all mankind and start a fire in their hearts for him. We live and die in this world in a very unique way as followers of Christ. We save for us to live is Christ and for us to die is gain and yet the process is all too often too much to bear. Our lives are lived in both the physical world around us and the spiritual world inside of us. The physical world causes us much pain and torment of the flesh. We are bombarded with sometimes uncontrollable desires to sin against our father, and yet no matter how hard we may pray there is no lasting relief from the condition we are in physically. At the same time we are under the desire to find more of who we are in Christ Jesus, and we can see the truth there. This battle for supremacy will continue in our lives until we die to one and cling wholly to the other for we cannot serve two masters. This is a life and death struggle, which will not end until a decision is made from within our hearts. For the spirit to grow and continue in our lives we must die to this world and place her citizenship completely in the hands of the father." Made you richly bless God through your life in him.
