Working in the power of the Holy Spirit
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
It's been a while since I taught anything concerning the working of the Holy Spirit within us as individuals. I want to take the time to write one or two blogs on the subject. I think we need to realize first of all who the Holy Spirit is to us and who is as part of the Trinity and the creator. The Holy Spirit has been working in this world from the very beginning of our creation. In the book of Genesis chapter 2 verse one the Holy Spirit was involved in the creation of an and the Holy Spirit has been at work during the gospel. Luke 1:35 talks about Christ being begotten, and not made. John 1:32,33 speaks of Christ being baptized by the Holy Spirit, and in Luke 4:1 and 18 the Scripture talks about being anointed by the Holy Spirit.

Most of us have heard about the actions of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts 1:&2 we are given much instruction through various churches on the purpose and the power of the Holy Spirit; and yet I don't believe that we really have a good understanding of who the Holy Spirit is or what his work is among us. Matthew 12:27=28 speaks of being empowered by the Holy Spirit but I don't really think we understand what it is to be empowered by God. We must be willing to allow God the control of our lives before we can be empowered by him. Scriptures in Hebrews 8:14 and Romans 8:11 speak of the Holy Spirit in different ways in Hebrews it talks about atonement person by the spirit. It's not just a work Bible letter of the law it is an atonement for sin by the spirit of the law we are literally raised spiritually from the dead by the spirit of God.
We've all heard a great deal from gift oriented churches about the workings of the spirit in the first chapters of Acts and yet the Holy Spirit was involved in so much more than just gifts. The Holy Spirit was involved in the ascension of Jesus, and it was Jesus who sent the Holy Spirit to us as our comforter our guide, and our teacher in John 16:7 the word tells us that Jesus had to go in order to send the Holy Spirit, and so the Holy Spirit is poured forth to teach us what we both see and hear. The Holy Spirit continues to work presently in this world as well through reproving the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Like it says in the book of Romans "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". The Holy Spirit has been sent to us to open our eyes, and it's the Holy Spirit today that restrains lawlessness in this world through his ministry of preservation. The Holy Spirit acts through the people of God by shining the word of truth through their lives Matthew 5:13-16 basically tells us to let our light so shine that the whole world might see the truth that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God. The Holy Spirit works in the church through what God terms"called together one's.
If we are really honest it is also the Holy Spirit who is the cornerstone are the foundation; the catalyst if you will that holds us together. We become small stones that are used to build upon that foundation with that is already been laid down on. There are really three important points to be made here as I close. 1. We are all baptized into one body by the Holy Spirit of God 1Corinthians 12: 13-14
2. Because we are saved by Christ we have become a dwelling place for the spirit not of building but a temple that is made from flesh and blood. Ephesians 2:22 Jesus Christ is in us Romans 8:10, and Christ lives in you, Galatians 2:20
3. The Holy Spirit gives gifts for our work in the service of Christ; every believer has at least one gift. Ephesians 4: 12, and I believe that we need to begin to learn more about his workings within us. I pray that she'll join me for the next blog that will deal with how the Holy Spirit's work each believer. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
