Our responsibility to God

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

We are called on to study God's word in such a way that we can know the basic truths of what he has told us about salvation. No one will do this for us even though we are taught in our churches that they will. We look for a list to follow to show us the truth, and we want the message to spin out the doctrines that sound good to us and what to do and how to live. The only things that we can count on our found in Scriptures. There is another single source of truth that can be trusted, and that is the person of the Holy Spirit but we have to be close to God for that spirit to be able to work with in our lives.

The verification of truth through the discernment of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us will help us to understand truth from what is false. God does not want for us to be deceived by the enemy and we must be able to tell a lie from the truth before we can witness effectively. There are many statements made from Scripture that are found in other books not included in our Bible. These books are found in various places like the Dead Sea Scrolls and the studies of many different scholars in the word of God. When we read the Scriptures and accounts it becomes extremely important that we are led by God's Holy Spirit in our studies. Many people have written things that at a later date they have had to make it detraction about. When we see people changing their doctrines and laws of belief to please the majority and stay popular among men we find different spirit at work. Detraction in itself is an inconsistency and it has an evil spirit that never continues in peace but is always in discord therefore stay away from it.

We need to be innocent without disguise as the word tells us it's kind of like being like an infant who knows no malice that can destroy the life of a man. The word of God tells us to be especially able to speak no evil of anyone nor be willing to hear anyone speak evil of another four by hearing evil about someone else you become a partaker of sin of the one who speaks evil. The word tells us to give without distraction to all who are in need or want not doubting to those whom you give. It tells us to give to all for God would have us give to all the gifts that he is given to us. Those who receive shall give an account to God both for what they have received and for what they have done with it. If they receive without real need they shall give an account for it. He that gives shall be innocent for he will have fulfilled his duty having received from God.

In order to understand what our responsibility to God is we also need to ask what God wants our role to be in the kingdom. In the book of Luke 17:21 we find that instead of an earthly kingdom Christ established a spiritual kingdom where God's presence and power would do well in the hearts and the lives of his believers through the presence of his Holy Spirit. The power and the work of the Holy Spirit is not limited to the supernatural, but he also is behind our spiritual strength and having courage,, confidence, insight, ability and love. We speak with authority through the power of God's Spirit. Jesus promised his disciples that they would receive power to witness after they received the Holy Spirit.  These words become very important to our witness and growth. The power of the Holy Spirit would be seen in a progression of things. One they would receive the Holy Spirit. Two they would give them power. Three they would witness with extraordinary results. The truth is we cannot witness under our own power and authority. Witness does not show what we can do for God, but what God can do through us. We are to give testimony only to our first hand experiences with God in our life. We are to show the world what God has done for us. In the book of Luke 24:49 we were instructed to wait for the Holy Spirit. God is the only one who can open doors for us to give witness of what he has done in our life in Acts 1:8 the word tells us that we are to be involved in ever widening circles of influence in the world as people ask questions and opportunities come. It is my prayer that some of what I've said today helps some of you in your personal witness for Christ. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
