WAGING WAR AGAINST DIVISION
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
The word of God continues to indicate the absolute necessity of unity in Christ and with one another if we are to have any chance of survival in this world. God has already given us a picture of what our situation looks like by claiming we are all sent out into this world like sheep surrounded by wolves. The only real strength that we have is that which is given to us through God's power to love.
While we might understand the true nature of the battle is that of a spiritual warfare most who live and breathe outside of Christ in this life are only thinking of the physical parts of the struggles we face here. Paul expresses our take on this struggle in 1 Corinthians 10:1-6 by telling the reader" by meekness and gentleness of Christ i appeal to you". We know that this world will not support us as followers of Christ because it did not support Him. I have seen for many years now the tremendous need for us as followers of Christ to treat our time in this world as though we were temporarily staying in a foreign country.
Our security in this life will at some point fall back on us to provide for the body of Christ as we will all eventually be caught up in dealing with a world who is looking for ways to eliminate the threat to their freedoms to sin without consequence, While our version of freedom may be to live peacefully among others; the worlds version is to eliminate the constant reminder of God's existence, and the need to be forgiven of the sin and the wages of that sin. That having been said we are looking at a more difficult time in just surviving in this life the longer Jesus is delayed from the second coming. Instead of constant division among Christians we desperately need t seek unity and ways of helping ourselves survive.
There are many common goal needs physically for us to be able to live in this world with a security that can sustain us. As the church we have been put here by God as much as anything else to show this world what a social structure in Christ would look like, but in most cases we still become like lams being lead to slaughter within the world because we are the foreign element in this world. This is one of the very first elements of the Christian life we must understand, for within that thought is the reason why we must be united in order to survive. God has told us many times and in many ways that unless we start to cling to the home He has created for us, and begin to release our death grip upon this world we will be very disappointed in Christ's second coming for we will lose our place here as this world perishes...yet still never fit into God's Kingdom either. This what Jesus meant when He said " If we seek to save our life we will loose it, but if we seek to give our life away for His cause we will save it". Next time we will begin speaking t you about just how we should go about developing that kind of security...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
