FINDING OURSELVES WHILE SEARCHING FOR ONE ANOTHER
Greetings in the name of Jesus;
The quest for self has been among the largest pursuits in modern life, and has taken over a large degree of our Christian experiences as well. This trend can be seen by the way most Christian concern is focused on our self image with God rather than the actual fruit of God's Spirit seen at work in the lives of those whom we touch.
It becomes a mistake for us to look for ways to inject self into a ministry we are called to within the body of Christ. I say that because it does not make any sense to promote self when one of our first goals is to die to being influenced by self desires. For a very long time now God has often lead me away from being placed within the spotlight because I don't want to think more of myself than i should. I know what stage lights can do for you and to you, and while we may all enjoy praise it is very easy to lose ourselves in the praise given by men. It is one of Satan's more subtle tricks to keep us centered in this world rather than to allow God to receive the glory for what He has done through us.
Dear friends this is one of the ares we must overcome at the start if we are to develop a strong unity together in Christ. We will not achieve security in Christ without faith and trust in one another.
We must be of one mind and heart in these matters for it will be at our weakest link that self desire and hidden agendas will be tested the most. I believe it is safe to say that we will find the truth about ourselves as we find the truth about one another on the inside. When I say that i don't mean we need to know all about someones past...what I mean is that we need to know someones heart...we need to understand both their strengths of heart as well as their weaknesses of heart; we need to deal with one another in the same ways that Jesus has dealt with us into maturity. As we begin we find ourselves divided in our own mind because we have put ourselves to a common task in Christ. Hopefully that will change as we study and share together what Christ will give in these coming blogs.
Being united...of one mind and one heart is something that we must seek out within our hearts. It is time to let your discernment kick in and start to work in finding those within the body that can be trusted to have your back in the up coming battles that will be waged.
