THE EBB AND FLOW OF LIFE
Greetings in the richness and love of God's Son:
Many people never really understand the fact that our lives really take on a personality and a kind of existence all their own as we live them out. If we are fortunate enough to meet the right people and make minimal mistakes along the way we may have a fairly easy life ahead of us, but for the great majority of people in this life that will in no way be the case.
The stories that we cultivate along the way as we live can be a great tool that can be used to share ways in which Christ has taught us or guided us through some of these difficulties, and it is time that I begin to share some of these things with my loved ones that I have collected through out my life time. It may give some of you inspiration as well to share more of who it is that you are as a person with someone who needs that particular encouragement. Even though it is sometime a scary kind of thing to do we need to realize that we will not know that we too can grow from a point of hopelessness into a point of light for God's Kingdom unless we can see examples of how it has been done.
In most cases people want to show themselves in the very best of light to others, and that makes us become like "white washed sepulchres", and very hypocritical in the eyes of this world. People are always quick to point and say " They did that?" The real point of all of this is our growth in Christ, and the sometimes slow insidious change that takes place in us as we walk with God over a life time. You see it is that progress that we want to begin to share with one another in this life to help soften the blows of this world as hardened hearts try to hack away at our faith. In more than one occasion I have found my own opinions change about a situation or life addiction someone had because I found myself in that same situation later in life. The funny thing is we often do not understand how someone could get into such a thing until we have ourselves fallen as well. While we can easily find an excuse for our own behavior with all the reasons for why we did what we did attached and being drug along behind us...sometimes we still refuse to see the reality of what we have done even though we would have pointed out the same problems with someone else. It takes time to let these experiences soak in so that we have the perspective we need to see where our mistake was. Sometimes it takes the sharing of someone else that we have had trust in to help us see that this life is learned from dangerous and bad experiences that God has been there mostly to save us from.
I like to call this a the current of our life...the thing that continues to push us down that river, and it becomes the under toe that drags some of us under that never again surface. This change or current in our lives also keeps things fresh and gives us often a chance to start over to get our lives right as well. I would really like to see us exchange more stories about who we are and who we were with one another so that we can dispense some hope for the younger people in our lives...believe me they need it. Perhaps some of my own sharing will help us to do that more efficiently. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
