A serious discussion
Greetings in the name of Jesus our Lord:
We need to have some serious discussions concerning the future that we all face in this world. In my heart I have felt many times that we are on the brink of fall as a country but not from oppressive enemies, but because we ourselves have simply handed our freedoms away to love God, and to keep Him first in our hearts. That in itself may not seem to be a big deal for many in this world, and yet in terms of any kind of relationship with our creator as a country it means that we have broken friendship and relationship with the one source of protection that we have had in our existence
I am not speaking only of the political scene here when I say that but I refer to the apathy that we who have pretended to be in Christ have had concerning guarding our faith as a nation. We now have placed ourselves in the same situation as all other Christians from around this world have lived in all the while, in that our country no longer is willing to protect the rights of Christians to worship and to gather in His name because we have allowed someone to stand and declare that "we are no longer a Christian Nation". That means to me that we soon will be dealing with the exact same things as the rest of this world now deals with. What has been the laws of this nation are so under mined that we no longer have a basis that legally supports our faith in Christ...and that is very scary.
My concerns will be for those among us who have like Peter said:" Lord I will never leave you or forsake you" and yet who will out of physical fear for their life or the lives of their family deny Christ again and again. I fear for the time coming so soon where those who we thought have been our brothers will begin to turn us in because they know our worship habits. My fear is that any or all of the so called "Churches" that we have been attending will stop teaching any truth about Jesus Christ, and attempt to conveniently slip unnoticed by this world into a place where they can blend into the surroundings of society. I fear that our efforts to use our own brand of wisdom as men to outsmart the enemy will become the death stroke for any major movement in Christ Jesus in this world, and I can see once again much the same kinds of things happening as did happen to the early church in persecutions and death for our Lord Jesus Christ.
My question friends is does that detour you from praising His name for what He has done for you? Does that information that you have so long tried to avoid hearing scare you into hiding from being fingered as a Christian? If it does then in your heart you are already convicted by the Spirit of God in your heart to make a change of loyalty from a citizen of this world to one of the Kingdom of God right now right where you are. If fear is trying to overcome you even now what will you face when the challenge to your life or the lives of your family members is made to reject Him? I do not believe that any of what Christ has told us about the ending of days is wrong or exaggerated. I believe that if we can count on the good and wonderful promises of God to us we can also depend as well on the warnings that our Lord has brought forth in those days, and I think it is time we prepare for some serious discussions. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
