MAKING GOOD DECISIONS

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I may not get the chance to be at this weeks Bible study...I don't know yet, but if I cannot at least I will be able here to give you a bit of what I would be recapping for Thursday Night.  This world is very much like dealing with wild animals in that the mindset they have is not geared toward gentleness, but upon what they can grab for their own consumption.  We have all heard about the "Dog eat Dog" concepts of life where the weak die and the strong survive.  This is the same direct thought process when we share God's love with some people in this world basically because they cannot understand anything else.  Until we can demonstrate for them what we are trying to give them they will never understand that they too can have the same kind of life we share in Christ.

It isn't that the dogs we encounter are bad, but not all dogs are able to be tamed because of the experiences they have had, and with some they have had to fight all of their lives just to survive. Matthew 7:6 describes people who are like this as well who will snarl and growl at any thing you try to do for them, or even by nature take advantage of your good nature or think of you as being an easy mark.  Later in this scriptural passage Jesus tells us to be as wise a serpents and as innocent as doves; which means to me that we must use the Spiritual discernment that God has given us when dealing with people of this world.  We need to love on people but not let them take advantage of us or drain our lives.

Jesus speaks about swine types of people who continue to consume anything that is thrown to them without any kind of response or change in their life.  In these cases all of our energy and good will just seems to go into a black hole never to be seen again.  What Christ is telling us is to not continue to let that happen.  Matthew 7:1-12 can then be divided into four areas: 1. Matthew 7:1-5 Judgement that allows us to judge things with a Spiritual judgement instead of a snap judgement or knee jerk kind of emotional response. 2. Matthew 7:6 our next area of division in this is what we have just talked about which is Prudence...that deals is how long we allow  ourselves to continue with giving or help someone before we get a favorable response. 3. Matthew 7:11 is Prayer which is bringing every decision we make to God first and allowing Him to give us an answer that will help us make the best decision.  4. Matthew 7:12 is what is known as the golden rule of continuing to do unto others the ways you would want others to do unto you.

The main thing to remember is the need for us to stay in constant contact with God through prayer in all that we do...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
