AVOIDING THE TRUTH
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
It seems as though we have repeated the same message now for over 50 years and still so few can understand what we say is true. I suppose it is possible to avoid the message of the Gospel of Christ throughout your life time, but let me simply say that it takes a lot of work to do that.
In fact if you think about it the more that you avoid hearing the truth about your life, and the solutions to the nagging unrest that sin causes the more guilty you become because you have to eventually be actively resisting God. It is the same as using almost twice the muscles in your face to frown with as it takes to smile. My point here is that we really do have to work pretty hard to ignore our spiritual life, and deal with where we have come from and where we are going next. Although there are many people in this life who may state that they do not believe in anything...when it comes down to the end of their life they all seek to find an answer. I don't think I have ever found anyone who does not hold some system of belief.
What is strange is that those who set out to destroy a belief in Christ are often turned into believers because of the research they have done. God has never said that we should believe just because someone else has said that we should, but that we should believe because we have been persuaded beyond any doubt that what God has said to us is true. The Lord continues to challenge us to pit our concepts against the truth of His word to see which one stands up in this life. We will never have the kind of faith that is necessary to live out the Christian life without being completely convinced through our personal experiences that Christ is real for us. I can remember years ago when I was growing up in the Bible Belt of Southern Il. people would listen to the words that others used and they would determine if those words were true or not, but today we hear so many lies that people will no longer listen to someones words; instead the begin to read the personas life that speaks to them, and if that life does not hold up to the message that is given it is dismissed as lie. It makes it really difficult because so few have the ability to live Christ out daily and still be real people who are also prone to make mistakes.
There is no way that we can live under the law, and still live under the Grace that Christ has given us...accepting what Christ has done for us is to accept forgiveness for our failures in life, and then to turn and live as a person should live who has been forgiven.
We cannot find a place to hide until all of this passes over us...we cannot hide in the grass somewhere because the grass will be burnt right out from under us. There is no way of avoiding having to make that decision. It won't be God that pushes you into a corner on
it, but the world around you that will not let it go. There is only one way to find peace and love, contentment and blessing that is beyond understanding, and that is through a relationship with Christ. In this season I hope that you have that, but if not it can be yours right now...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
