THE BATTLE FOR UNITY
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
With every new day there is a new challenge in store for us. With every summer breeze comes the possible rain cloud and in sewing shower, but God provides us as well with the love of dear friends and family to surround us with support and an atmosphere with which we can grow and be safely stretched spiritually.
Change is an ever present thing in this life, and we are called on a journey together that allows us to become who it is that God is making from us. Our life role vary and are changed from time to time as the need of another person that God calls our life to changes. I feel that our lives may change because of the needs of another person as much as our own needs. In fact we don't think about the fact that in Christ we are all tied so closely together in the body that anything that happens to one of us always affects someone else as well. We are never alone in the work of God because in some way we are either helping to prepare someone else for a task that God wants for them to do our we are being prepared for a next step within our own journey. No matter which it is that God is working within our lives we are connected in ways that we may never realize.
It is very important however that we do eventually realize how very important that connection is between us and others because our perspective and goals tend to change as we work to accomplish important things for the Kingdom of Heaven. We may begin to understand better the world wide concept of the body of Christ in that we each have areas of importance to that body not just as individuals, but also as communities. We are given gifts and missions to accomplish that must link with other communities and bodies of believers for the cause of Christ if we are to be successful in allowing the Spirit of God to flow through our lives. We cannot continue to afford the duplication of ministries or the competition between Christians for bragging rights or name dominions over who is in charge or even in the leadership of a ministry. Instead it has become time now for us to turn the page on traditional themes of church ministry to look for ways that we can strengthen one another's efforts. This can easily be done by looking around you in what ever church you are a part of to see what is taking place. If you see a ministry that you wish you had then get involved in strengthening the one that someone else has begun instead of competing with it. If you have a slightly different angle on it from the one that exists then talk about the expansion of that ministry into your area of interest as well and both of the efforts will be strengthened from the work of each other's efforts.
The unity of God's Spirit is the single most important objective that we should have in today's world. The love and the bond that we are give through our brothers and sisters is directly tied into our growth and success in Christ. That bond ...if strengthened will guide us and lead us through the toughest of times, and the worst that this world has to throw at us...but we will never be broken or undone by the outside forces that attack us, only by the division and the competition from with in. Love one another with your whole heart and strength. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
