THE TAIL OF THE TWO GATES

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Throughout the parables Jesus gives a very complete concept of what the Father considers to be a right and a wrong pathway to choose in this life.  We have been watching closely the very small varying ways that Jesus weaves a conscious thought of love, and hate within the human condition.  The fact that when Jesus came to us in the form of a man His intention was to set a completely new scale of what justice meant into play meant that we would have to abandon the old concepts that had ruled us for so long.  In one form or the other these were rules of law ordered by a natural law of right and wrong that had been mixed with the Mosaic Laws that God had given to govern the daily life of the Jewish Nation in coming out of Egypt.  These laws in themselves had already been corrupted by men and were being used as a mockery to God, and a way to carry on hidden agendas by those who wrote the very amendments to these laws.  It reminds me much of the ways we have corrupted the Constitution of this country through amending and twisting its intent for the benefit of a very few.

God has intended all along that this new covenant will be open and free of amendments of any kind.  We have not taken long again to put our brand of salvation and wisdom to work in the development of denominations that have been used to destroy any kind of fellowship and unity that was intended through the Church that Jesus established.  The result is a mess of concepts and hoops that those seeking forgiveness are required to jump through before we allow them to find Christ Jesus....this is much the same thing that the Scribes and Pharisees did in the manipulation of the Law of Moses in Christ's time.  Personally it makes me sick in my heart to see.

This Easter season gives us once again an opportunity to get it right as we consider the truth about our faith in Christ. 1. There is not enough true faith in God to even cause much of a stir in our communities today, and I base that on what I can see being done in church communities all around us. 2. There are many things that we can consider to change that outlook...but they all start with change within us first.  We don't seem to realize that Easter is really all about our Salvation; more so than at any other time in the year...or it should be.  The fact that when Jesus came to us that first time it was not to condemn us but to give us the gift of Salvation through the plan that God had designed.  It was our rejection of sin and our belief and acceptance of Christ as Lord of our lives.  Once again God has tried to lead us to a place where we no longer felt we needed to have control to be safe...but we see the hidden agendas of men, and the influence of a sinful world.

There remains only one way to reach God; and that is through Christ.  This world has been trying to find its way around that for centuries now but cannot without our help and out tendency to want control.  This life then comes down to two choices...two gates which stand before us.  We can quite playing games and come back to the one true source of life which is Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God.  We can accept Him as the Lord and master of our lives and be obedient to the new covenant established for the Church of loving God with all that we have, and then loving one another as we love ourselves; or we can continue to reject that as the only answer and claw at one another and bicker and fight over who is scriptural and politically correct over points of information that have absolutely nothing to do with our salvation...that by the way will get us nowhere except for dead to God.  I really hope that we begin to realize the difference and make some changes this week.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
