WHO IS THE BRIDE OF CHRIST?

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

The choice is a two-way street!

God has chosen to give us a choice in the way we live out the life we have been given by doing everything that  He can do to prove to us that He truly cares.  Now the choice is ours once more to show Him if we accept or reject His offer of love.

Who then is the Bride of Christ?  It is the people who choose to do the will and keep the commandments that God has given them.  Jesus was asked one time about who He considered being His family, and He replied" Those people who do the will of my father in Heaven.  God does not mince words when it comes to taking this stance about our relationship.  There is a real difference between knowing about someone and having a relationship with them.  We can even like someone and never know them, and that is just the point that God is trying to make.  It is one thing to praise someone for what they have done in general terms or have heartfelt gratitude toward that person because of what they have done for you.  God you see already knows us because He is our creator and He knows everything about us individually and collectively.  To put it very simple terms the bride of Christ are those people who love God with all their heart and who do His will.

Whenever I make that statement I have to stop and think about the fact that I can say that without including any of the doctrines of denominations or the creeds that men have put together, and if I can do that it means that I don't need any of that to have a perfect relationship with God through Jesus Christ. How amazing is that?

The immediate picture I get in my mind is the purity of the love of a little child running into God's arms in complete trust and love.  I don't think of the well manicured and put together person who has everything in control when I think of the Bride of Christ; but rather the heart of someone who realizes they need protection and safety from the hate of this world for them. I see a heart that can open up and trust God for the promises He has given to us.  I see a vulnerable person who has allowed God to wrap His arms around them and is so close to God that they can hear His heart beating for them.  I see a person much like you when you are ready to be honest with yourself and with God.
The simple truth is that it isn't hard to be a part of the Bride if you will humble yourself and ask God to take control of who you are.  Jesus has even told us what we can expect as the Bride of Christ so I will continue with more next time. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
