WHAT DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE?

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

I think for each one of us there is a point of crossing.  By that, I mean that there is a point where we make our mind up to really believe in God as truth for our lives or we treat Him like a cultural kind of thing like "I choose to believe because everyone else around me says they believe"  That crossroads comes to us often at a time when we question ourselves and our own purpose in this life as much as we question the existence of God, but we need to ask ourselves at that point  where we have found the most truth?  Is it in self?  Is it in the world around us; which by the way always asks more questions and gives fewer answers?  Or is it in the only source that you have found that never fails and always tells you the truth about yourself no matter if it hurts or not?

In all of my travels, I have found only one place that is consistent in my life and that is the word of God.  For each of us there needs to be a place that we can connect with that is a constant source of truth and reality for us to use as a comparison to everything else we have thrown at us in this life. When we lose that place we are floating on a sea of lies and deceit that will never give us a stable anchor again.  The very quality of who we are as a person depends on what we choose to believe in with our whole hearts intent.  Rationally we know that this world continues to change and shift as the fickle society around us takes on a new trend of what is IN STYLE for that moment.  There is something within each of us that senses the truth when we hear it, but then we often are talked out of sticking with what our heart is telling us by an onslaught of other choices that may be easier or less difficult to deal with, and it is our human nature to always take the easy way out. It becomes a remake of " The road to Hell is paved with good intentions" and we have all traveled down it many times.  My point is that we are constantly in some kind of combat with distractions from what we know is real and solid truth, and that becomes our crossroads situation most of the time.  I have found that it is the simple message of salvation that Jesus gave us about belief in God, and to believe that Jesus was the one sent by God to deal with the bondage of sin that held us away from a relationship with God. He simply said that we should love God with everything that we had, and then love one another as we love ourselves. Every other truth is based upon that command.  After we understand and practice that truth in our lives we can then begin to build upon that foundation with greater knowledge but we have to cross that bridge first.  Let me ask you very simply " What do you believe in your heart's core?" May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
