HOW DEEP DO YOU GO?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

HOW DEEP DO YOU GO?   I ask this as a general question when it comes to not just your study of God's word, but where it concerns your personal spiritual life and relationship with God as well. The reason why I ask this is to assess for ourselves whether or not we are growing in Christ or if we are allowing ourselves to stay as little children by not taking on the responsibility of both learning and having various kinds of accountability in Christ.

As I look around me today I don't see any great amount of accountability in the Christian life.  In part, it is brought out by a lack of focus on it by our churches, but also we ourselves would much rather not strive toward that higher calling in Christ to grow enough to be able to give good witness and first-hand testimony to what Jesus Christ can do in changing our lives.

In Galatians 4:1-11 Paul makes a statement about an heir as long as he is a child does not differ that much from a servant in the household. We are meant to grow and gain both knowledge and stature in Christ's Holy Spirit so that we might not only be heirs with Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven but also be able to effectively defend our inheritance with Christ.

For each one of us, there is a time when we need to grow up and take a stand in our beliefs and defend our home   As I look around me  in our country today I realize the tremendous danger that is creeping around the corner that cannot be described in any other way but it being pure evil.  No matter how many times we gain small defeats of this evil it will never go away in this world or give up its quest to rule over the goodness of God.  There is a point when we too must take up arms to defend the principals of our faith.  We must be able to stand and give an account of not only what we believe but why we believe in the face of a world that now demands proof from our lives.  We can use any picture in our heads of what home means to us, and use any time of the years to reflect it.  The point is when do we start to defend it from an enemy that hates it and us  for our faith in it?

While we may not have been thinking about this too much we must remember that the enemy of God never sleeps and never stops plotting to show proof to that world that Christ is a failure and that we are liars when it comes to our salvation.  A big part of our growth in Christ besides bearing fruit for the Kingdom and the Father is to defend our faith.  HOW DEEP DO YOU GO IN YOUR FAITH? How much do you prepare in your worship, or in your coming before the Father in prayer? How much effort do you put into understanding and studying the word so that you can show yourself approved unto God?  Isn't it time for us to ask these questions in the light of what we see happening all around us today?   May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
