WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
I have been praying for God to give me a series of better messages for my readers, and I think He is starting to answer those prayers. I have heard all of my life from people who have prayed for REVIVAL, UNITY OF MIND AND HEART, and various other things that sound as though they really want God's will to be done in their city or community, but nothing ever happens. THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT NEED TO BE POINTED OUT!
In general, people do not understand what they are praying for. The average concept of Revival is prayer, and a strong desire to be close to God, but they are not prepared for what must happen for a true revival to happen. Most consider that if a revival is to occur God must somehow get involved to bring it about but that is not the case. Instead, it is the hearts of the people who are praying must be turned and changed to the point they would do what it really takes for revival to take place.
One of the first things we must realize is that we have too much in this country to distract us from God. If we were to have God get involved we would be forced to lose all of the comfort and the toys that we have accumulated so that we would not have STUFF in our way of being able to seek after God. We are always planting seeds in the minds and the hearts of people and most of the time we don't even realize it. It is almost always the small things that we do in our lives that stick with others more so than the thing we try to plan out as big events or acts in life. I can truthfully say that the things that are being placed on my heart to say over the next few posts are things that fit the church worldwide. We view ourselves most of the time as a church that is independent of everyone else in Christ but that is not the way God set the church family to be toward one another. The whole concept of the church is distorted by thinking that we can ever claim to be the church as one congregation unto itself or even one denomination of believer unto itself. God has always seen us as a family of congregations throughout the world who quite frankly are determined to be right fighters rather than to submit to His Spirit to govern us as a people. We have not been created to be anything but support for one another and a place for new Christians to grow and learn the basics of life in Christ. The Holy Spirit should be our teacher always, and He should be the one who governs us all through the foundations of Christ Jesus. Anything else is foolishness and vanity.
I want to begin a series of thoughts on this topic that will hopefully break some of this down in much more simple terms so that everyone can digest it. I will through the power of God working in me begin with the church and a look at what we as men and women have done with it that has changed it from God's original intended purpose. We need to know what we have done and have allowed this world to creep in and do to us as a family. I ask that you keep me in prayer because although I know where God is leading there is a lot of work ahead. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
