THE TOOLS OF WAR IN THE SPIRIT

Greetings in the name of Jesus

Paul had a great deal to say to the Corinthian Church.
2 Corinthians 10:3-7 " For though we walk in the flesh we  do not war after the flesh ( for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and brings into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Do you look on things after an outer appearance? If any man trusts to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that as he is Christ's, even so, are we Christ's."

There is a knowledge that comes from knowing Jesus Christ that gives us a certainty about our relationship with God the Father.  If we truly believe that Christ is who He has claimed to be we should also know that the things that we fight the most with as Christians will never be the same as what this world fights with.  We recognize that the battles are not physical but spiritual, and because of that, the tools we use to fight with cannot be the same either.  What we fight with the most is on the inside of us; it is in our mind and heart. The real battle is simply to continue to believe that God is there even though we cannot physically see Him according to this world.  In truth, we can know that we see God everywhere when we look around because God is Spirit.  Because this world is constrained to only the physical things we can see and touch, name and control we cannot understand in the flesh the things that God really is which is Spirit.  While we cannot hold these things in our hand we can hold them in our hearts.

Our obedience is based upon our love for God purely given back to Him out of gratitude for His gift already given to us, which is our way back to a relationship with Him.  The battle is between the things that we know in our hearts are true and the things that our bodies lead us toward in this life. One part of us is Spirit which is Godly, and the other part of us is created carnal and temporary being held captive in our bodies.  Depending on what part of us we listen to for guidance there is a continuous battle being waged for the control of our will.  That battle is designed around our purpose for being in this temporary life in the first place; which is to make a decision about our relationship with God that will change our eternal life.  Our real battle is then not at all what we have been told it is. It is not a struggle against this world, but against the influence of what governs this world and the very claims of this world about what is true and what is false.  It is the beliefs that we form from what part of us we will ourselves to listen to.  On one hand, we can see, feel, and sense life on a physical level that tells us this is all there is until we dare to dig deeper into who we are created to be.  It is then that we begin to sense the eternal creation that we have always been meant to be.  One simple choice that God seeks from us as to we choose to serve...God or self?  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
