HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO LIVE AS CHRISTIANS TODAY?
I send greetings in the name of Jesus:
There are a tremendous number of things that try to stand in the way of anyone living the Christian life today. The facts are that all over this world there is an unrelenting attempt to dissuade any of us from being drawn closer to Jesus through the power of God's Holy Spirit.
Generally, this is different in various parts of the world. In some places, the threat of the loss of one's life is used as a direct attempt to scare people away from God When we read consistently in His word we find the promises of our life not ending, but rather only being stopped in this physical world the fear of death diminishes for us as children of God. Knowing that even death has been conquered by Jesus upon His own resurrection takes away the ultimate fear of a man taking our own life here. It is only when we as Christians cannot let go of the death grip to this life that we fear what this world threatens us with. There are many in this world even this moment who are making that kind of sacrifice.
There are others who are disheartened in other ways by the princes of power in this world through a series of things that enslave us to the world today. In most cases, it is because of what we as supposed followers of Christ have actually placed our faith in; and it is not in God. There is a great lives-many today who are living very hypocritical views of the Christian life. These are people who claim to be followers of Christ, but only because they will never have to back that claim up with any kind of real commitment. Unfortunately, most of these (Christians) live in the Western cultures where we have supposed to have brought the greater knowledge of faith to light in the building of many churches that dot the landscape. The problem with that is that we don't really live out the Gospel to one another as it is given in Christ's message from God of the Good News of Salvation. For the most part, we refuse to fellowship with one another which also men=ans that we do not love one another as Christ has directed us to. This opens a great need within this culture to have missionaries sent to us as a culture that will preach and teach the true Gospel of Christ unto Salvation.
There are times in truth that I wonder about the claim that some of our anti-Christian leadership has made in the past that we are " No longer a Christian Nation". Even though we are still saying the right words and pretending to support the principals that Christ has set, we will never be able to convince God of our love until our actions speak louder than our words.
I have heard of the great need for revival in this country, but when I consider what revival would need to take place here it is very scary to me. Just like the Jewish Nation, we would not get serious about coming to God until true evil was allowed to be unleashed upon us. At the same time what we need the most is for things to be taken away that have long stood between us and the true worship of God that was intended in the development of the New Covenant. This week I would like to share some personal thoughts I have on the things that we have been fed in this country about sin and about what is important to live the Christian life that may surprise you. Stay tuned this week, may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
