LOOKING AT DIVISIONS THAT DO NOT MATTER

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

HEALING  is a very big deal with many in today's evangelistic community and yet it becomes one of the mainstay tools that the enemy uses to divide us as well.  I don't think there is anyone who suffers from an ailment of any kind that would not like for God to heal them.  I know that my body is wracked with difficulties caused by injuries I have had over the years, but they have also played a great part in helping me to understand how to lean on God for His help to get things accomplished that He has directed me to do.

I personally do not clamor for a way out of the physical difficulties I have but I am learning more each day to trust God to get me through each day in doing His will for me.  It is a struggle to continue to work through a daily grind, and I find that quite often I have to stop in my day and ask God to help me to keep going.  If nothing else I have learned that doing that is a good thing and it helps me to stay reliant on Christ's Spirit to get me through each day.  In truth, I believe instead of constantly trying to find a way around dealing with the harder things in this life we need to be standing in the presence of God's power to help us go through the hardships we face and not try to hide from them.

I believe that God heels today, but not because we want Him to.  He heels for His glory and purpose within our lives.  The gifts of the church are being used all over in God's name, but not always for His glory or for the purpose for which they have been given to the church.  I believe it is time for us to understand that the gifts given to us as the church need to be used for the ministry of the spirit of man more so than the physical bodies.  Our promises have always been geared toward the life of our souls and not that of our bodies, therefore, the greatest heeling's that can be done by the church using any of our Spiritual gifts need to be directed toward healing someone spiritually instead of physically.

Jesus had authority over healing because He had authority over sin.  It is sin that causes disease in this world and our bodies are swimming around in a soup of sin constantly.  There isn't any wonder why we have pain and afflictions in our bodies.  Jesus healed for a reason because not only out of love for us as His creation, but because He wanted to get the attention of those who were stumbling through life with no clue as to how to find God.  Healing became a way to draw people unto Him to hear the Good News from God about Salvation.  That seems to be the thing that we are missing about
the gift of healing today. The whole purpose for these things is to draw people closer to God, and yet many are claiming as a gift to draw others to themselves. Luke 7:21-23 emphasizes the healing over the healer, and that is the way we should always keep it.  The message is more important than the messenger.

It is this attitude that we need to have when we approach these gifts so that we don't allow ourselves to get in the way of His Spirit doing His work through us.  All of this is simply to say "  Let God have the control back in our ministry to others and among ourselves"  God knows our needs, and if healing  us will aid in bringing about His will for our lives He will heal us.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
