A NEW COMMANDMENT I GIVE YOU
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
The scripture found in John 13:33-35 gives us a new commandment not found in any other time in history from God; it is "That we love one another as we love ourselves". Jesus told us that this is one f the only ways that we can be sure that the world knows we are from Christ; that we love one another.
The harder I think about this the more difficult it is to understand why the world, in general, is so opposed to loving others as themselves. In truth, we have sought this kind of behavior at least in word since the 60's, and yet when we look at the world's kind of loving others we will see a completely different slant on the concept. a few exceptions to its love for others. As an example, we might see " I WILL LOVE SOMEONE AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT COST ME ANYTHING" which if you have any ability at all to think we know love is very expensive to give if it something we try to keep to ourselves. God has already promised the believer that He would supply all of our needs, and love is one of those main supplies He has given as long as we are willing to keep giving it out as we receive it we will never run out of it. If we will only think about it if we truly believe God's word to us we can bank on the fact that we can love all we want and never run out as long as we love in the same ways that God has loved us.
When it comes to any real love most of us are behind some kind of mask. We may be acting one way while we are feeling another way That kind of deceit can be very dangerous to both people who are in genuine need of real love, as well as those who are looking at our lives to see if we are genuine people of God. It becomes a part of our Christian maturity to figure this point out in our lives; the point being are we real in our caring for someone outside of self or not? While that debate has been with us since the church first was established the answer is still the same. You can tell who is of God by their love. There are some cases when the people who are loving are disguised quite well when there is a disaster of some kind, but you will always find those who are really loving from God there when all of the dust settles and everyone else goes home. Thos are the people who are from God who is continuing to show forth a love that gets to be very costly to them personally..
Over the years I have had the privilege to know many of God's real people. I know that the truth continues to shine and the real love continues to flow no matter if we see it or not, and I know that deep inside the hearts of men God is winning. It may not be winning in the same ways this world describes winning because it is not by the numbers of people but by the character of people whom God has chosen to be His own among all of the hypocrites and liars that are out there as well trying to deceive us about what love is...for the children of God will no doubt be known by their love. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
