DEALING WITH THE IDEA OF SIN SENDING YOU TO HELL

Giving glory and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ I come to you in His name:

SIN has always been a big issue in the Christian life.  All of the Apostles had to deal with the subject of what sin was and why or where it was considered sin at one time and not at another time.  The Scribes and Pharisees during the time of Jesus had taken the concept of writing laws around the very idea of what was and was not sin through amendments to the laws of Moses that would allow them to get around their particular sins through the obedience to the law as it had been officially amended.

Today we are still dealing with people who would rather skate around God's word and do what they want to disguise their sin. In fact, we as a church have bought into the idea that has been promoted by the world around us that teaches these half-truths about sin and it's association with death.  The reason I say this about this being a half-truth teaching is that sin was introduced to us by the father of lies Lucifer, and it was designed to separate us for all eternity from God...in other words, it was designed to cause us death.

This whole concept should have worked perfectly if it wasn't for the miscalculation of just how much God loved us.  Lucifer, knowing how much God hated sin thought there could never be a reconciliation with mankind having been drug into a sinful state.  Satan did not know the power of pure love that God had for us and certainly did not consider what lengths God would take to bridge the gap that had been created. The enemy did not think that God could be so selfless ass to sacrifice a part of Himself to bridge that separation that had been created, but as we have seen so many times with God true love knows no bounds.

The idea of the power of sin over our lives has followed us throughout our history as mankind. Romans 4:-6: deals in particular with this separation between us and a God who loves us so much as to sacrifice a big part of Himself to secure a pathway back to Him. The bottom line has always been that God loves us a lot more than we think He does.  The question has never really been about His love for us, but about our love for Him?  We are constantly mudding the issues between understanding that great love from God, what He did to prove that love, and then our response to it. What really needs to be cleared up is the fact that God has taken away the power of sin to separate us from God.  Through the act of forgiveness, He has destroyed the plan of the enemy to keep us from Him, and He from us.  The only thing that stands between us and complete forgiveness is Jesus Christ and our acceptance of Him as our Savior.  Everything that we need is based on God's perfect love for us, and the way that we respond to that love. I want to look more closely at how we should be looking at sin, and how we should be responding to perfect love this week so stick with me as we dive a little deeper.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
