Who is the church?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
The term "the church"has lost its true meaning for most people; even those who attend service every weekend. The reason is simple because we have changed the meaning of the term to fit our own agendas instead of God's agenda for what the purpose for church is.
In the eyes of the church attendee the depth of our church experience rarely goes deeper than a Sunday morning worship service, or at best an additional Bible study or fellowship during the week. In God's eyes however the church was to be a representation of the spiritual family of God on earth. There was no real formal name given to it other than those who followed Christ, and its workings and principles could be found wherever God's people could be found.
Today we can easily see the promotion of self or organizations that promote self on every street corner that carries a brand of religion. Each of these carry their own opinions about what Christ taught, and about what they think they want to hear God say. While there is a semblance of truth within each of the doctrines and creeds presented most have a point of argument which is specifically designed to divide and separate them from all others. This separation allows them just enough difference in the eyes of men to disband fellowship with anyone else except their personal brand of Christ.
God has(for very long time now) cold for those who would be a part of his heavenly family to allow his spirit to do the leading of the church by the obedience of Christians to his word as it has been given through Christ Jesus concerning the kingdom of heaven. Instead of rules and doctrines that have been formed by men to look and feel like creeds from God; the Lord has given us examples of attitude and spiritual actions that we should be imitating from Jesus Christ. In these examples we find the thought process of God toward failure, and the mercy that real love was created to show toward one another. It is because of this law that we can show a true forgiveness of the wrongs that have been done to us by others by seeing how real love works within the forgiveness in God's heart. It's not just of verbal forgiveness but a concentrated effort toward forgetting about the sin which promotes a complete unity of mind and heart toward one another.
It is a mindset that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ alone which promotes the real purpose that God has created the church for; and that purpose is to grow Christians, and to add lives that have been broken into the kingdom were all life is created new. There is no self-promotion involved in the original intent of the church because it was created to be a family whose head was God the father, and whose teacher was the Holy Spirit who was to dwell with in each believer who through the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ had been bought with a price of his perfect sacrifice for sin. Our job then was to bear witness to what Jesus is done, and give testimony to the real truth of God the father, and Jesus was sent as his son to give us hope and access once again to have a relationship with God.
Our reaction was to be read by God through the intent of our heart to bump him as he has loved us. We can easily see that it is only by following the example set for us, and not by rewriting a creed or doctrine of our own to follow that we can achieve the created purpose of the church that God established to be a spiritual family. It is as a family,(not an organization) that we should operate. The intent of our heart toward the work that we do then is as a family of God reaching out to aid our brothers and sisters as they attempt to minister as well. We should not be concerned about our own recognition or promotion in the eyes of this world, but in the furtherance of the good news to those who so desperately need it.
The direction that the original church was established to go in was to spread by any means necessary the word of God that there is a whole that has not been seen in the world through Jesus Christ. Our intent then is to help others whom we may find to do the things that we can discern through his spirit that they are called to do. We are to strengthen and unify God's people and the work of God's Spirit by giving aid in partnership to others as well as to those among us who are called to serve in ministry. This is a radical change from the mindset of today and the way the church that we have always know really works. If you look back on some of the other blogs you will find reference to mentoring one another through the spirit of Christ. What we have discussed today about the church is a first step in that day wrecked of that God has given us and are called to witness. I pray that you will take that to heart, may you richly bless God through your life in him.
