CONT: THE STUDY OF GOD'S WORD

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

 THE STUDY OF GOD'S WORD:

   BE THOROUGH AND COMPLETE

One of the ways we get fooled by people in the study of God's word is to take scripture out of its original context and try to make God say something that He did not say. This is prevalent among those who would rather prove a point than to follow the truth of God's word.  When I say to be complete not only do we need to keep things in context but also we need to put ourselves in a place where we are not going to be interrupted by life around you.  I know that in many ways this can be an almost impossible task in the United States today, but no matter where you are it is important to pick a time and a place where you can best concentrate on what God is trying to say to you.

SCHEDULING TIME FOR STUDY

This is important in that we tend to create habits that we follow in our life whether it is physical activity, study, or family time.  If we have electronic devices that allow us access to hearing God's word we can often find time between other appointed activities in our day to listen easier than trying to take the time to read in private.  For me, I like the old fashioned way of just getting alone with God because I have to really make the time to be in the mindset to hear what He is saying to me.  Our lives can be built around intent that is just to get something checked off of a list we make in our day instead of actual intended time with God.  Quite frankly, I find that God looks for that intent in our heart when we try to make contact with Him.  It kind of becomes the difference in hearing what Jesus said to the crowds when He was speaking parables.  Some only heard a good story without getting any real meaning from it, while others were listening with Spiritual ears to hear a deeper and more meaningful message from God about their lives.

GOD CONTINUES TO REVEAL NEW TRUTHS

Most of us do not take the time to see this happen, but every year God is taking another step or two in the process of preparing the church to become a part of the true Kingdom of Heaven. No matter if it is in the pruning process of thinning out those who are only playing church; or the many different things that are happening worldwide to further His Plan of Salvation through the many signs and wonders we see happening around us in this world.  Most people will never notice them until they start getting into God's word in a serious way.  There are many great changes that are due to be made through the outpouring of God's Spirit on His people in these final days in the church body.  I think in the year 2019 we will see many things that will change the status quo of the church.  There will be many who will decide to fall away from their fellowship in the church because they are not getting what they want out of it.  Unfortunately, that may mean that they find they cannot manipulate God or His people in the ways that benefit them the ways they want.  It may mean that they are not getting fed any real Spiritual food that is helping them to grow, and they are beginning to seek other forms of fellowship and teaching that allows them to grow further in Christ.

That is the reason I have decided to continue to do blogs.  It is for the people who are hungering and thirsting for the truth.  In the next series of discussions, I want to target 4 different areas that will help our heart to be more faithful in Christ Jesus. I want you to remember these four words:
FOCUS
BALANCE
PRODUCTIVITY
FULFILLMENT
In the next blogs, we will deal with how these areas will help us in our quest to draw closer to Christ.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
