WISDOM OF THE SPIRIT
I send you greetings in the name of Jesus:
It seems like this world is getting crazier with every day that passes, and I find in general that spiritual wisdom is even more difficult to understand by the man on the street than ever before.
For the "man on the street" it has begun to be useless to try to speak in terms of spiritual wisdom because the general mentality of our society has been dumb down to the point that our children do not even understand the basic wisdom that our country was established on. I look at the leaders and the rulers up until now is being much like the enemy of God that they have served, they tend to be very immature and self-centered. It is for that reason that we as Christians need to speak with greater wisdom spiritually. In 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 it tells us "we do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of the Sage or over the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of God's secret was, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."
It is this kind of wisdom that allows us to understand the true meaning of the cross of Jesus Christ. This allows us to be considerate of one another because of what Christ has done for us. There is no place for pride or a know it all attitude. We are to have the mind of Christ. In today's world there is no spiritual mind people. As an example no one really understands what the Last Supper is really all about. The world views it simply as a tradition in the church, or as a sacrament or a doctrine that is a part of the Christian service but only the spiritually wise understand that the Last Supper is a time of reflection on Christ's final words to his disciples before he died on the cross; and we must celebrate this in an orderly and correct manner. The world does not understand the love and the explanation of how to love that is given to us in1 Corinthians 13: 1-13 or the fact that love is to guide all that we do. We have different gifts, abilities, likes, dislikes, but we are called without exception, to love.
God has a secret wisdom that has been hidden from this world, and hidden from the hands in the minds of those who would try to use it for gain. This was his offer of salvation to all people. This was originally unknown to humanity, this plan became crystal clear when Jesus rose from the dead. It was the resurrection of Christ that proved that he had the power over sin and death and could offer us this power as well 1 Peter 1:10-12, and Romans 16:25-27. God's real plan, however, is still hidden to unbelievers because they either refused to accept it, choose to ignore it, or simply haven't heard about it. I am always amazed by how much God's plan of salvation is misunderstood, and how badly the world mixes up the true purpose for which Christ was sent to us. It's especially sad when we see those who were supposed to be the wisest or most educated among us often being the ones to be first in line to crucified Christ among us. It becomes the deep things of God that we cannot wrap our minds around. We can not understand the perfect nature of God or of his wonderful plan. We cannot understand Jesus death and resurrection, or the promise of salvation which is revealed only to those who believe what God says is true. To those who believe in Christ death and resurrection and put their faith in him they will all know what they need to know to be saved. It is this knowledge that cannot be understood by even the wisest people unless they accept God's message. God has revealed all of this to us by his spirit. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
