OUR COMPLETE DEPENDENCE ON GOD

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Every time I start to write a blog I am reminded that it is never really me who is doing the writing, but the work of the Holy Spirit from within me.  The problem for me is very often trying to find the right words to describe the message that fills me.  I went for many years fighting with myself on the inside to find the right things to say.  The one thing that I had to realize is that whenever I start a blog I should never be in charge of what is being said.

The only way that I can ever become useful to God is to understand the by myself I can do nothing Just as Jesus himself said in John 5:19-23. We must understand that Jesus is every bit God just as he is also every bit a man., but as a man, his power flowed not from his divine nature; but he had complete dependence on God.  The fact is we are all caught in the same situation as men and women in that we too can do nothing without the power of God's Spirit flowing through us.  As we do battle between self and what God wants for us to do very often there is room for rebellion from us in doing God's will.  It is for that reason that we must be extra careful to kind of make ourselves listen closely to God's word, and not to bring the wrong interpretation in a teaching that we may feel led to share.

Our human mind and our leadings from God's Spirit may not be on the same page at times, and when that happens we should take a quick step back to make sure we understand the context of what God is saying to us; and that we are relating that word to what we are saying to others.  I have told many people over the years that the very moment I think that I know all of the answers someone comes along and asks the wrong question.  We cannot see the mind of God always no matter how tuned into Him we think we are.  I think that may have been one of the main reasons Jesus stressed the fact that we need to serve one another in love; it was so that we are somewhat taken out of the context of importance.  We need to be in a servant role at all times as our faith continues to work through love to serve one another according to Galatians 5: 6-13...  We find the true power of God only can come when we rely upon the power of God's Spirit completely, and then expand our complete energies on loving God and helping one another.

When we start this journey with God's Spirit we will not realize the direction we will be required to take, or what we will be required to deal with in our personal beliefs and behavior.  For many people, if they had known, they would have likely done what I did at first; and that is to try to run from it. The problem, of course, is that we cannot run from what God has chosen us to face in life.  For me personally, it was the discovery of who I really was, and what I had come from; and then the long journey and impossible task to change that character into one which would fit into both God's plan, and into the Kingdom of God.  I want to discuss more of this with you as we continue in the next blog.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
