THE THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

When it comes right down to it there are many things that people are afraid of; and it usually always includes the unknown.  I  know there  have been many times when I have been asked about death or dying where I have made the statement  " It does not bother me ", and while I can easily still say that because of the faith hat I have placed in Jesus Christ I can also  still say without reservation that as I stand and look through that glass darkly my knees still quiver at what is on the other side of death.

Setting aside all of the teachings we have done concerning what Christ has told us about what we should look forward to we still have not dealt with the issue of what it means to die.  I am facing another set of surgeries on April 3rd for my heart failure problems, and that means they will go into thee left side of my heart this time and possibly also put  a Pacemaker in.  It is not that I worry about the surgery all that much or even the possibility of  death, but it is the feeling of not knowing what awaits on the flip side of things.  It  has occurred to me that many others who are in Christ may also find themselves thinking about this kind of thing as well when they face difficult times and so it is important to me to be there for them as well.

I remember when Paul was in prison and awaiting his sentence he focused upon those who still needed his guidance and spiritual judgment in the church instead of worrying about what may happen that afternoon or even the next morning.  There are always going to be things that bother us in some way.  Most of the people that we need to concern ourselves with are those who are around us who will be left behind when we leave.  I think that in truth that is what drives me the most about the possibility of my leaving; I wonder if I have done enough to instill in those left behind the strength to stand  in the times to come?  I have spread teachings from God's Spirit far and wide now, and I can only hope for those who have copies of some of them to share with others who may need them so that they can take the time as well to study them.  I hope that someone will continue to help me spread this word through the re-post of some of my blog studies that have perhaps helped them in the past.

No matter what happens to me in the next few days I just pray that you will all continue to grow  and be touched by your love for God, and in the word that we have all shared together.  I will be honest...I don't know what is going to happen.  Your prayers are always so important to me, but your continued love for one another is more importyant than ever in the days and months to come.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
