LOOKING FOR ANSWERS

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Most of us are always looking for instant answers to eternal questions. I find myself needing some kind of hope that will affect my life right now. God continues to give us that hope of eternal life, but then he asks us to believe and to wait for the spirit within us to bear fruit. The word of God tells us that he has planted eternity into the human heart. I believe that every person, deep down, knows there is more be in this life; something that we have been made for is still missing, and it is all because we are created in God's image and we are given hope that we have and the eternal value.

In Jesus's teachings, we are asked to focus on things that will last forever; things like our relationships with other people, and in particular our relationships with God. We have in our acts of service and our words of encouragement and counsel to others, but we have been created with a restless yearning for the kind of perfect world that can only be found in heaven. I am finding that I can only do my part by trying to model the kind of life that God has promised that I will enjoy forever in his kingdom. Over the years God has continued to give me glimpses of what that life is like each day of my life through nature, art, music, a smile, or an act of love.

I know without any doubt that some day God will restore all life to a perfect state and a never ending exploration of life's beauty in a perfect relationship with Him. I don't believe that we are meant to know all things or to understand all things in this life. I believe that we see everything eternal and spiritual through a kind of reflective glass in the way that Paul explained. We do not see an image directly through our eyes of who God is or what he can or will do because the light we see is a mere reflection of the direct light of truth.  It is only through our obedience to God and our love for God that we can be placed in a position to enjoy our life in the ways it was meant to be enjoyed. The more faithful my life can be to God the more my life will model the integrity and the conscience that a child of God should have. If my heart and mind can be clear in my day those whom I come into contact with will be able to notice the truth about the eternity that you have placed within me through your Holy Spirit.

There never seems to be one answer that will fit all lives, and that is because we are all custom made to fit into a perfected plan that has been designed for us. God has designed all of us to be very unique, and it is a personal creation for each one of us. We can get a glimpse of the incredible mind of God simply by looking at his creation. Take one very small part of the mind of man; the brain is a soft lump of tissue that weighs about 3 pounds. It's one of the most watery organs of the body, its outer tissue is about 85% water. There is very little relationship between brain size and intelligence. Some very bright people have smaller brains than those who are less intelligent. The brain feels no pain because it has no pain receptors. It floats and fluid inside the skull, and the fluid acts as a shock absorber. The brain stops growing in size at about age 15 and its surface is covered with folds; if it were laid out flat, the brain surface would cover to average student desks. The brain has four times as many nerve cells than there are people on earth. While this is simply trivia fact that we can pick up from the information that we have acquired as people, it also does not scratch the surface or the depth of the mind or of the spirit of God. That is why our concentration needs to be on a commitment to faith in God's word. When I begin to look at the infinite possibilities for where this study of God's mind could take us I simply stand dumbfounded. Simple belief and trust in the perfect mind of God is the only way to find the answers. May you richly bless God through your life in him.
